help with Mack model overview

Question

Hello all

Would like to figure out what Mack truck would best suit my needs. Is there a place to look at all the different models and configurations to better get an idea of what might have been available?

I'm looking for an all Mack configuration, pre-2011 (and way older is fine as long as parts availability isn't an issue). Tandem axle with power divider would be great. I don't need a super long chassis or to haul too heavy but ample gear selection and even twin sticks are fine. Looking for something where the entire engine is available to work on via the hood (minimal doghouse configuration) and good turning radius. One piece wheels are also important (don't know what year those became standard). Appreciate recommendations or a site where the models are all laid out. Thanks

O.

appreciate your perspective. I should say that this is not a truck that I'm going to be using everyday. Farm application (building roads, etc) and occasionally out to a job site but not my every day rig.

Ok that a little different… other guys might chime in to recommend a perfect set up good luck I ran freight trucks all my life mostly single axles so I’m not familiar with what would work for you… good luck … bob

So R600 or R700 sounds fine, CH Macks are a fair step forward in comfort and I don't think you would be sorry with a E6 2 valve tip turbine motor or a E7 Mechanical type of motor

Mack 12 speed are pretty bullet proof as are 44 Mack rear end

Single rail chassis in parts of North America are apparently important

It really depends on what your plans are

As much as we love the old gear, you certainly know it's old gear after a big day pulling a load
