Question

I am looking to buy a 2005 Mack CV713 from Canada, but it is missing the engine emissions label. Can I get a replacement label from a Mack dealer?  Any advice you have on importing? I would drive it from Quebec to Maine. Thanks for your input!

You should be able to, but you will have to pay a fee of some sort to get it (I don't remember how much it is, they don't tell us up front). There's a form they have to fill out and send in, basically confirming you're legit and not trying to slap a new VIN on a stolen truck kind of thing.

Been there done that! Don't do it.

I brought 2 MH E9s over years ago, before COVID, for parts, no title on one of them but Bill of Sale. Got to have that to start with. First thing that they looked at was if the engines had the EPA info on the valve cover. Said that if that lable was not there the trucks would not be allowed to pass into the USA. The tags were for USA emissions not Canada as well, that was a plus.

An option is get a used valve cover for that engine and put it on before tring to get past the border. Sort of like an illegal alien, No documatation No Entry!
