Hello fellas,

Ive got a 2013 gu713 with a mp8 in it. Recently I've noticed that the engine oil tempature is rising up to 266 when loading in a hard pool, down the road loaded it'll linger around 255-263ish. Before the last week it always ran at 244 when loaded. My water temp has been getting slightly higher than average, around 209 at a hard pull when loaded and the fan will kick on and drop it back down to around 190 but it'll raise pretty quick again and just keep doing the same process. Truck still seems to drive well.

Now.. my coolant has also gotten dark as well. Like a purple blackish color. My mechanice tested it and flushed the coolant system, he said there wasn't any pil, transmission fluid, etc mixing. The coolant level is also dropping below minimum even tho I filled it all the way up and haven't ran it since 2 days ago.

Sorry for the long message but im worried about the truck at this point. Its been nothing but a headache. What could be my issue here?

No exhaust gasses in the coolant ?

I dont think he checked for that. He told me there wasn't any oil, transmission fluid or power steering in the coolant when he did the flush. It has a new radiator, its about 3 months old.

All that is good for sure.. there is a tool that sits on top of the coolant tank that can detect the exh gasses. You can get the tool at NAPA or any other parts store..  im still concerned about the high temps. Do you have an infrared temp gun to confirm the high temps.?

I dont have either. I'll definitely get the tool to check those things tho. Ive been too mechanic dependent at this point. I plan to take it back to my guy on Monday before I leave out the country. Im concerned a iut the high oil temp for sure. I was thinking maybe a head gasket but who knows
