Question

Goodevening everybody, I'm hoping someone on here can shed some light on this situation. I've got a 1991 CH 613 e7 350. It does have the bosch pump but it is electronically controlled. Over the past year the electronic malfunction light would come on periodically and the engine would de rate the power. Completely gutless when the light came on. I could cut the switch off and back on and the light would go away and back to normal engine power. But it never had any codes stored while doing this. So we couldnt trace it down. Fast forward to a week ago.. the light came on and I done exactly what I have done the previous times, cut the truck off and back on. And its 100 percent full throttle. Almost like the rack is stuck wide open. But the key switch will shut it down. If you crank the truck back up, does the same thing. Wide open throttle. Does anyone have any insight to this? Or had this happen before? Could it be the Bosch FIC? Has that been the problem the entire time? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Have you confirmed that the throttle lever is not wide open? Im not smart about injection pump internals. It does sound like a stuck rack though. Have you checked the connection of the duetch plug at the inj. Pump ? Make sure none of the wires are loose and able to be pulled out of the sockets from the back sides.  I have made many repairs to those plugs for loose connections. Make sure it is secured in its yoke when you finish.

You need to check codes first if none then it Sounds like the rack actuator is fubar !  Try in plugging the plug at the pump half a dozen times and see if the symptoms change if it does it’s the pins in that plug or the wires to the pump!if not it’s inside the pump itself rack actuator!
