CML Service Posted May 11, 2015 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Hi Folks, I'm doing a brake job on my 1967 DM and I can't remember what we used to torque the lining bolts to. j hancock Posted May 11, 2015 Share Posted May 11, 2015 The brake manufacturer should be able to provide the specs if you know who made the blocks.Some old info that I have shows that brass or brass plated fasteners should be used. 1/4" fasteners use 80-100 lb inch3/8" fasteners 18-23 lb foot Quote JimIt doesn't cost anything to pay attention. CML Service Posted May 13, 2015 Author Share Posted May 13, 2015 Thanks for the input. 18ft-lbs comes out to be 216in-lbs and 23ft-lbs is 276in-lbs so that seems to be near what I was thinking. I may split the difference and do 250in-lbs that seems like the number we used. It was over 30 years ago when I worked on busses and relined the brakes all the time.
