Superdog Posted January 11, 2014 Share Posted January 11, 2014 T2180 is the better transmission as far as I'm concerned.It's the older generation transmission,had 2 of them never had a lick of trouble with either one. Make sure you get the PTO neutral switch,really nice feature. I never had a PTO but used to use it in the winter to warm the transmission up.Only had one t318,in the first Rawhide I got for my son,it shelled out with less than 500k and Mack wouldn't back it up. whitegold Posted January 11, 2014 Author Share Posted January 11, 2014 okay thanks. not sure how all that works, but I need a pto to run the pump to load milk, can I put a pto on that transmission and is the neutral safety on all them and just needs hooked up? Superdog Posted January 11, 2014 Share Posted January 11, 2014 I'll be honest,I don't know how it was set up or how it worked. both trucks were spec'd with it from the factory,just an air switch on the dash,flip it up and you could put the transmission in any gear you wanted and the truck wouldn't move Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
