Problem is that I don't really know electric theory, so some things I just dont understand. I wired it the way you said, and ammeter and fuel gage dont work. Had a friend helping me and we installed a master cutoff switch, which shorted out when the connector on one cable hit the body of switch. (this was last week) lights work, heater works. Is it possible the two electric gages were burnt out by that short?? leversole Posted October 20, 2013 Share Posted October 20, 2013 Check the battery voltage with the engine off, then check with engine ruinning, if generator is putting out, voltage will be higher with engine running...actual numebrs depend on a lot of variables.... thomastractorsvc Posted November 14, 2013 Share Posted November 14, 2013 Just put a 12v DELCO style alternator on it and take that old stuff off, you will be way head. But if you cannot it is understandable that costs can be high when changing out most things.
