In a lone hunting cabin, in the deepest, most desolate part of the forest surrounding the township of Daingerfield Texas, during the worst blizzard to hit the area in 100 years, we find our hero Randy and his best pal in all the world, Spot the Wonder Dog.

Shortly after sending Spot out to find Clem, Randy drifts off to sleep, but is wakened soon after by the sound of Clem butting up against the cabin.

However, the next day Spot still hasn't returned to the cabin and Randy begins to worry. He hunts through the woods for Spot but can't find any trace of him. With the break in the weather looming near, Randy has no choice but to return to town without his trusted pal.

After returning to town Randy makes up fliers and plasters them across town, canvassing the area and advising the good people of Daingerfield to be on the lookout for Spot.

Speculation abounds as to the whereabouts of Spot.

Sheriff Otherdog, despite being heavily burdened with his duties as the lone constable of Daingerfield, issues an All Points Bulletin for Spot. For several days there are no leads to follow up on, but finally someone comes forward who can identify Spot and give some idea of his last known destination.

Randy quickly sets his mind on getting to Missouri, despite the Winter weather moving in on Daingerfield. However, without the help of Sheriff OtherDog, Randy must resort to more "creative" means of making it to his destination.

Remembering that he still has his secret set of master keys from his old job at the mine, Randy decides to requisition a large haul truck, one big enough to plow it's way through the snow if need be.

After administering a dose of Dr. Randy's patent pending sleeping aid to the current operator of his old haul truck Randy is ready to get down to business.

Randy barrels down the roads where they exist and makes his own where they do not. Unfortunately, since his retirement from the mine, his old haul truck hasn't been accustomed to the same preventive maintenance program that Randy practiced, a fact that Randy becomes acquainted with in short order!

With no recourse but to start walking, Randy sets out on foot, prepared to traverse the wild and lawless roads on his quest to reach Spot in Missouri, when his ears hear a most welcome sound, the sound of air brakes setting!

Randy gladly accepts the offer of a ride. As soon as Randy is loaded up in the truck the pair speeds off down the open highway. As they drive, the two travelers strike up a conversation, one that shocks both Randy and Bigen!
