2 Stick Behind A Big Cam?

Recommended Posts

Got a friend with a $%it truck, with a big cam and 9 speed. wants to put a multi speed reverse tranny into it, his existing reverse low is to slow and reverse high is to fast to take off... needs a little more reverse speed for spreading operations.

my question is will a mack 2 stick have the proper clearance if we bolt one to the bAck of his cummins? next question I have an air shifted 2 stick but no air knob where can i get one or does mack have them? thanks!! :SMOKIE-LFT: :SMOKIE-LFT:

I've seen a TRXL1071 trans behind Cummins 350 myself and it fit, and worked well. After three Fullers, the owner said enough. I don't know what other than driveshaft modification was done. I know he used the original clutch the Fuller used.

The "Selectair" valve can be purchased through Mack, or PAI. There is really no difference in quality. To me, they look as if the same manufacturer produced them.

If you use this truck on road, the Big Cam may not have the low end torque to climb the steps of a 5 speed (a 6 sp with lo lo). Also, if you run the PTO off the trans., you will need the Mack PTO that runs through the countershaft in order match PTO speed with travel speed.
