  1. I think the Titans are out there, they are just illusive. Maybe 3P can tell us how many were built so far (if he hasn't already somewhere).

Just as an example, a local trucking company bought a bunch of Visions in '06, as well as one Pinnacle (CXP613). Since it was new at the dealer, I think I've only seen it twice in those 5 years, and I see a bunch of their trucks daily.

  2. I posted some picture of one awhile back, I think that company owns at least 3 or 4. As far as I know they still don't have a factory sleeper option, the one in my picture had an aftermarket affair installed. On a side note, I hear the GU is supposed to be getting an HOS sleeper option in the future.

Here's a link to a photo of a Granite sleeper test truck. Granite Sleeper

  3. As of 2/6/11 no new titan has arrived here in the mack dealer in Binghamton. How about down in Scranton? All they have new here is the Mack Granite tractor and that new 08 Hino service truck oh yea and a new cxu613 pinacle day cab tractor.

As of 2/9/11, no new Titan either. Scranton's got that reddish purple 2009 CXU613 sleeper, a white '11 GU713 tractor, a teal '11 GU713 dump chassis, and two '11 Hino chassis.

(There's also a '11 GU713 chassis that is entirely mint green (cab, chassis, axles, etc). It said "stock chassis" on the sticker, but the dash emblem said it was custom built for someone.)

  4. The white Titan was up in binghamton for the longest time and I did see it gone so I thought it probaly went back down to scranton. They had that white titan over 1 year and I am glad to see they sold it now. Do you know who bought it and what there gonna use it for? I am suprised there gonna get another Titan after they had problems selling the 3 they sold.

Its funny you say that because at first I had thought it went back to Binghamton, haha. From what I was told, it wasn't sold to a customer, but went to another dealer. I don't know for sure if the the new one was ordered yet or not, but I'll have to inquire the next time I'm there.

  5. They needed the sleeper yesterday... I live 20 miles from South Dakota, home of 150,000 pound+ GCW 13+ axle "road trains". The biggest power Mack offers with a sleeper is the 13 litre MP8 with a bit over 500 horses. At 150,000+ GCWs only 500 horses and 13 liters doesn't cut it- they need 600+ horses and at least 15 liters. Sure, the Titan offers 600 horses and 16 liters of torque. But South Dakota is 400 miles across and has some nasty winter storms, so truckers here demand a sleeper cab on just about any truck that goes beyond sight of home base. Mack won't be competitive in the boom market that is South Dakota 'til someone at HQ designs some extended rear sleeper cab mounts to mate a sleeper to the high mount Titan's cab. That'd take an afternoon at Paccar, but apparently takes years at Volvo.

I imagine some of the initial delay was due to the "sleepers" being built in North Carolina, where as the Titan was built in Macungie. Now that assembly has been consolidated to Macungie. I have a feeling a Titan sleeper is not far away.

On another note, sucks to hear about Coverty's Titan being in the shop a lot. Haven't seen the maroon one in the shop yet (knock on wood), its been busy hauling what I believe is asphalt lately.
