The BBQ paint should be good I've painted charge air coolers and rads with it before and it's worked ok.

Always keep the linkage well greased on an MH it will make shifting easier. Plus you want to take care of that part of it because the shifter linkage parts are getting harder to find for them.

Wow a one stack Mack with a window in the back! Very nice!

Too Cool ! I always wanted to buy a new truck and run it my whole career, but I guess I came into the world a few years too late. They don't make trucks like that to last a lifetime anymore. You have a very sharp looking Superdog looks like you take very good care of it and the fact you've had it since new and have kept it up so well and it's still doing it's job for you is definitely something to be proud of. My hats off to you for a job well done, here's to at least another 25 years together for you and your Superdog.

Welcome from the most southern tip of Ontario!

I'm not sure on the cab mounts but the 2 aluminum handles are definitely 70s through 90s vintage Freightliner Cabover lockdown handles.
-
I think they're the same handle. That's a good idea R Model doors could use an extra handle inside. Iowa 80 and 4 State also carry that same grab handle.

Thanks for the compliments guys. 4 short years ago it started out with a pair of frame rails on horses and lots of time a lots of bucks and 4 donor trucks later here it is. Vlad I put the fenders on I lucked out I was pricing half fenders at Traction Truck Parts and was talking to the store manager and told him I really wanted 4 individual fenders or a set of full fenders but I didn't want to spend the money , and just so happens he had that set of full fenders upstairs that a guy ordered a year before and never paid or picked up and he didn't want them around so he let me have them for $350 they are for the spread but are short on the ends that's why I have the stainless pieces and Mack flaps on them. I have a pretty good sheet metal shop that made all the stainless stuff for me.

A guilty conscience will get the bet of you every time. And although sometimes it doesn't seem like it honesty is the best policy. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your dad Other Dog. I know the feeling I lost my dad a year ago today and it's something you take for granted while they're alive but life changes after they're gone.

I tried a little experiment on the new truck today. I went over all the aluminum with Busch Polish and tried their wax sealer on everything to see if it will stay shiny hauling gravel without being married to it. The steers have Dura Brights but the drives are just polished Alcoas. All of the Mack's we've bought in the last couple years have been like that. I don't know why they didn't come with Dura Brights all the way around it would make life easier.

Yup that's where it was at Mayfield and HWY 50. That Superliner was for sale on Kijiji and a few other places, I believe it has a Cat in it, but it is sharp! I put the new Pinnacle to work today. MP8 505HP doesn't pull like my E9 450 but that's like comparing apples to oranges. It does a good job, very driver friendly easy to see out of and turns on job sites well. Taking it back next week to get the clutch adjusted right clutch brake doesn't work , fuel gauge either and it dropped to 100km while I had it set at 105km on the cruise and I couldn't get it to run over 100km one of our other pinnacles did the same thing just a few minor bugs but overall I like the truck.

The boss sent me on a road trip up to Toronto yesterday to Richie Bros to put the biggest piece of scrap iron I've ever had the pleasure of driving for the last 3 years. An 09 KW W900L ISX Cummins powered he bought sight in seen off the web from Texas. He and myself wish he had left it there 3 years ago it been a lemon the whole time. We think it was probably in a flood before we got it and he's spent the price of a good used truck every year in it letting everyone try to fix all the electronic problems in it. So we took it to the auction. So hopefully no one we know buys this Lemmon it's a good candidate to send over seas. It was one of the happiest days of my life. To see it gone.

Good work, she looks great!

Cool! Not too bad for only 190HP.

Your double frame looks pretty rust free and straight to start with. That's the worst part of a double frame truck. You have lots to work with and it looks great so far. Thanks for posting the pics and keep em coming with your progress.
