JakeBrake nice picture. Isn't that a stiffneck rearload Lowboy? If so where could I find one like that today?
I suppose they may be getting hard to find. It seems like they all use detachable gooseneck around here now. I had a chance about 5 years ago to buy one like that but it was a tandem. I passed on it and don't know where it ever went.

Al, I got to be good friends with some of the guys and even got to drive a couple of their trucks. They told me if I wanted to see some big equipment I should come down to Plain in the late fall when it's all back home! Never made it though. Here is another one of their loboys. Taken in mid to late 70's. Jake

Don't know where they went Al. Kraemer sure had a great looking fleet. Some real impressive stuff. None of it ended up in this direction that I know of as I never noticed any around here. Now they hire all hauling done. They even hire their crusher moved. I know this is about Hendricksons but here is a picture of their twin steer Autocar. Mark Weltey gave me this picture. Jake

On Monday I had to drop one of our drivers off at Chicago Mack to pick his truck up. It is a 2012 with M-drive and it shut
down on him 4 times on Friday for no apparent reason. Seems to be working now, but since I was there I figured I would
get a few pictures. There was not an R-model in sight. The next two oldest trucks were what looks to be a former Roy Strom
DM and the Meade Electric CL700. The Green Granite seemed pretty new to be back up for sale, I was wondering if the
guy didn't like it or maybe it got repo'd.
Brian, Many years ago we had to get our truck in the Mack garage down by Sox stadium in Chicago. Is this the same one or is that one still there? Jake

I hate to admit how little I know about them. A friend of mine travels all over the west for his job and likes old iron too. When he gets free time he runs the back roads looking for old iron. He knows I like Macks so he lets me know if he finds any. I've known a bout them for about three years but I had a lot of things going on and had to wait awhile. He looked them over and took the pictures and said they were great shape. I only have one serial number because he opened one door and took a picture of the data plate. The owner said they ran good but he bought them, drove them home and parked them. He told me that when we pick them up, plan on spending the day because he had lots to show us. He said he had over a hundred farm tractors in his collection.
This same friend found a B53, a B53 parts truck, a BCR for me and a B53 and three Valueliners for my son, about four years ago and they turned out OK. I guess I don't feel too bad about not seeing them first .I trust his judgment. He also found my LTL in Montana and that turned out well.
I asked the owner what powertrain they had and he couldn't remember but said he knew they were all Mack. I'll be a lot smarter when we get them home! My son transports propane in the winter and does excavating in the summer so I'm thinking maybe the end of March.
Maybe I should call Al and Mark Trukin!

Mark, I thought you were going to say the "Bulldog" on the first truck. The story that I heard was they came originally from New Jersey and were used to haul the mail. That explains the spokes. They were used in Wyoming to haul hay. I suppose they thought it was safer without a stack. JakeWent back and looked at these F's a little more, did anybody else notice what's missing?..............................Mark

Forgot to post the before picture of Tom Bisognani's truck as Doug Maney found it......& after in the 4th of July parade in Arlington Heights,Ill.
[Al, That front bumper on Tom's truck looks a lot like the one on your BCR. Is there any connection? Jake/quote]

In October I was getting some parts for my BCR at a junk yard in southern Minnesota. They were busy cutting up some old bread trucks and I told them I was looking for some Mack parts. I asked them if they ever cut up any old Macks. They said any Macks that will run, no matter how poor, go to the exporters. The others are dismantled and put in shipping containers and sent to Africa. Kinda depressing. Jake

Hi Martin21, I have a pair of front fenders off my 1964 B 61 that I removed when I found a better set. They are not in great condition and would need work. You can let me know if you are interested and maybe I can send you a picture. Jake

I always shift my quadruplex just like a 13 speed triplex.
Mine also shifts like a 13 speed triplex. It's a TRQ7220.

Joe,
The Watt's version is for an 18 speed where you go from 4th high to 5th high (not splitting 5th gear at all).My trans according to the manual is a 20 speed, where you do split 5th gear.A little different. Thanks for the suggestion, though.I will check with Matt if I can't come up with anything from anybody on here,he is a busy man! Al

Back in the day, many tandem drive trucks had no front brakes.
In 1974 I drove a new F Model tandem with steer axel brakes. That was the first tandem that I ever had them on. Then the '74 had an air toggle switch to cut the air to the steer axel for slippery roads.

I'll check it out. Thanks Al. Jake

Neat Al. I like it just as well not all prettied up! I think those air cleaners out behind the bumper are just cool. I see they kept the wide stripes on the bumper.
