  2. Well, I finally got to take it for a short drive a couple days ago, I still have the grin on my face! Lol. She drives SO MUCH BETTER than I had anticipated! There is a miss at high RPM though, could this be a weak injector, or maybe it needs the overhead run? It doesn't do it at idle, or low RPM's, just when it gets up over somewhere around 15-1600, and it doesn't sound like a dead miss, more like a weak injector. I know nothing about adjusting the injectors, or valves on these 673's, is there a website that explains it? Thanks Keith
  3. Still have the B67, I finally got to drive it a couple days ago! MAN IS SHE SWEET !! It drives a lot better than I thought it would, I still have the grin on my face! I believe the previous owner was way off on the 55 MPH top end! I ran it up to about 40-45 MPH, dropped the main box into overdrive, (5th is against the dash) and put the back box in high, and it dropped to 1200 RPM, she is governed at 2100. With 3-4 MPH per 100 RPM, that would give me another 30 MPH. Add that to 40-45 MPH, and that will put you at 70-75 MPH . I can live with that! lol. What a nice truck! I think the guy I got it from ran it all the way from Gainesville with the back box in low, that would give you around 55 MPH ! Let me know if you still have any interest in trading! Keith
  4. Not a big fan of "Jimmies" but this old girl needs to be rescued, this was GMC's "Big Dog" entry into the "Owner Operator" over the road tractor market, I came across it on Craigslist while looking for parts for my B67. I can't paste in these posts for some reason, but if you go to Ft Meyers Craigslist in Florida, it is listed as a 1972 GMC 9500 MH Series, it's in Bonita Springs, Fl, and of course it has an 8V92 430 Horse Yamaha in it! Good luck, someone save her!
  5. Thanks, I'll have to look again, didn't see an thing last time I looked, except for the numbers on the bottom.
  6. I use to run a black " 361 Brock back in "85-86" It had a 1974 Cat in it turned up all to hell, straight chrome 6" stacks, chrome bumper, grille shell, Farr air cleaner, I loved that truck, had a 5+4 double over in it ! Wish I had it now! My dad had a 48 Brockway with a 48B Continental gas job in it, it had a 5+3 in it, and my uncle put a Browning behind those, couldn't run it out of gears going down hill! Lol, My uncle drove that, and my dad drove his "51" DC100 A-Car, it had a straight 200 Cummins, and a triplex, was painted Apache red and Sheridan blue, had Bimbo painted across the front bumper. Back in the "50's" Out of Revere,Ma. I remember when I was little, his other brother got a B75 Mack, I remember him pushing the air starter when we were driving buy a pasture, and making all the horses run! Lol
  7. Awesome ! I bet they were fun to drive !! No A/C, no GPS, no automatic trans, no APU, no PLASTIC !! No power steering, no refrigerator! My kind of truck !! A man's truck !!
  8. Hi, looks nice! Guess you lost interest in my B67 huh?
  9. ** UPDATE!!** I got it tagged and insured today, the guy I got ot from obviously doesn't know how to drive a duplex, this thing will run about 70-75, haven't had a chance to let her wind out in overdrive yet, but she does better than 60 in 8th! What a nice tight driving old bulldog she is too! :) I just acquired this 1958 Mack B67T, I have been wanting an old B model for about 30 years, and while the B67 is NOT my first choice, I couldn't be happier, she has VERY LITTLE rust, and runs great, has a duplex, still haven't found the tranny numbers, but it has 5th gear towards the dash, and the shift pattern shows it as being towards the back of the cab like and it is labeled as a direct, according to the previous owner, top gear has been turned around, but says that it only runs 55 MPH, so a differential swap will be in order, has an END673, and a 36" Freightliner sleeper, and the cool part is, it's titled as a motorhome!! I'm loving it!

Engine runs good, very little blue smoke, the guy drove it down from north Florida, took two hours, was running nice and cool, and had good oil pressure when he got here!

Gonna have to put a headliner and back cab panels in, on a tight budget, so some experimenting may be in the works! lol! Also gotta find a good air ride seat for the passenger side!

Can't wait to paint the interior back to original Mack green, just need to find what paint code it is.

The Freightliner sleeper is in good shape, and the upholstery is good in it too, this will come in handy! The bottom storage box is locked, and no key, should be fun finding out what is under there! Jimmy Hoffa? Lol
  14. From the album: 1958 B67T Tilt bed

Bed is in pretty good shape, I have to replace a few boards to make it perfect, but no biggie!
  15. From the album: 1958 B67T Tilt bed

The sleeper did away with the concave cab, and the doghouse will make it necessary for a roof air unit, looking at Dometic units, self contained, no compressor to hang!

I deal in antique cars, so I will have to make some ramps, it has a tilt bed, so I will be able to haul two at a time when I need to, as I have a 20' car trailer

Hopefully, I'll be able to find a good deal on a chrome grille shell, bumper, and some hood latches, money is tight, so, will have to be a HELLUVA DEAL! Lol. Probably gonna paint it like the old school new England trucks with scroll work done on it, open to any suggestions, or tips!
  18. Would definitely go with a multiple carb setup on that 707! and some headers, maybe six holes in the side of the hood with six chrome straight pipes poking out, like an old P-51 Mustang WWII fighter plane. The flames would be awesome at night too!
  19. Love the truck, and my thoughts when I was reading about your problem was that it is stuck in two gears also! Good luck, I'm new on here too, and there are a great bunch of people on here!
  20. Here's one a lot of you may have never seen, or at least those that have, haven't seen one in a long time, I wish I could find this one, it's my dad's old Ford H1000, from when I was a kid, hit was bought in 69 or 70, and he ran it till 73, it hada 1673B Cat in it, that he turned up, it would pull with a 318 Detroit and 300 Cummins, he had a 10 speed with top gear turned around, and a 3.70 rear, with a tag axle, I can still hear that old Cat through that straight pipe! First truck I ever drove on the highway, I was 11 years old, my dad's partner talked my dad into letting me drive on the highway, since I had been driving it all over the yard, hooking, dropping, and backing, lol This pic was taken around 73, you can see my mom and dad in the background.
  21. Thanks, sounds like I will be installing a roof unit!
  22. good idea, I was thinking about how I could check it with a test light. That will definitely work
  23. Hmmm, guess I'll have to get more "up close and personal" with it! lol
