Not so sure about that, cooper is an American Co. they may be making some tires in China but not sure,I ran three set of the Roadmaster s and they lasted just as long as the continentals you just bought,I like the continental a lot there a nice wide tire especially for the steer axel, could you share where u bought them, that’s an awesome price..

Just looking online, looks like they are in fact making the Roadmaster in China, still an American Co but manufacturing there product in China..

This. I can't stomach the thought of running the cheap Chinesium tires. Especially on a steer axle. A lot of guys say they are fine but I don't know. Look at the quality of everything else manufactured in that country. Why would tires be any different? They just don't hold up like a Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, etc. in my experience.

    RM-852 Cooper's 11-r x 24.5 just paid   2129.51 for 4   price's going up 466.00 a piece.....

You paid 532 a piece,I just got two 12/24.5 delivered for 1500 they were 654 + tax + fet tax + 20 delivery, not at all happy with the price but I needed them for steer tires now..😤

Its funny how supply and demand works. A Michelin or Goodyear in 11R24.5 is about $500 less than the exact same tire in 12R24.5. Is there really $500 less rubber and steel in an 11R24.5??????? WTF? At least you don't need 12.00R24s. They are like $1500 each now.

I don’t miss those big ars tube tires one bit..lol

Here's my .02 cents. On a straight truck I gross 90,000 on 6 axles total. 3/4 highway miles 1/4 gravel. Double coins lasted 55,000 miles. Michelin xdn2 will make 105,000 to 120,000 miles. I rotate every 30,000 miles. Plus with the xdn2's, when you're done with them they still have casing value. I hate changing truck tires and I hate paying someone $70 to change a tire out. So I go for the Michelin.

Wow I never even priced Michelin, doubt they even make a 12/24.5 but that’s an amazing difference in mileage..

On a good day i can run over 400 miles a day just in the city of Tulsa.Staying on 169 and I 44 and the traffic is insane now.But i am too old to do any thing else and Doctor says to keep walking and lifting some weights so i stay in a truck.

    Wow,that’s a lot of miles in a dump truck,right now I’m doing 120 to 200 miles a day and that’s enough for me..lol. I’ll be 71 in August..

Yes i understand that but 7 years on the casing is not a thing you see.We have some tire saleman here if they said they breath air i would not trust them.I have been cheated by the tire shoes here and its my own fault but we only have two.The good thing about these shops here is they can get you in and out fast which when your dump trucking is a big help.Ever time i go and buy new tires he will offer 65.00 for old tires or 85.00 if he can keep and check them out.I have had as many as half of them that they say will not cap.I have better luck when i buy tires by telling him up front i know your going to screw some one so use me and get it over with.About two years ago they had a new saleman there which sold me 8 tires and first thing i told him is 16 ply only. Two days later i get to looking and i find they are 14 ply so i call him and he say well i was trying to save you some money. But if you ant used them bring them back and we will change out no charge.I ended up getting about a year out of them which with a dump truck that amounts to about 65000 miles.Around here only way i will use caps is if they put on my casings cause you cant trust these guys.I did buy some of their caps for the trailer one time and i say they will cap any thing.

Damn you guys do some trucking out there,I’m running about 25000 miles a year, well 9 months in the year..

ran a set on the drives, lasted like a year. They definitely don't last as long as a big name brand. Caps last longer than that

That’s strange,I wore out three set of Roadmaster tires front and drive and got over 50000 each set and no issues what so ever and my truck is a short wheel base..

the cooper roadmasters on my trucks are all made in america.

our cooper dealer is in the building next to us in the industrial park.

I wasn’t sure where they ar made but I like them,I was buying them on line from simple tire, last week they were 600 for 12/24.5 and now almost 700,trying to contact them to get a good deal,I’ve been getting 50,000 + miles out of them witch I think is pretty darn good on a dump truck, they were delivered free to my door..

  11. Last brake job on this truck about four years ago, shoes were about 60 each and drums were 150 each, there probably double that now, will find out soon,I remember the bolt on shoes in the past but there all riveted now unless you have a set of your own I guess u can still buy pads, the core charge is 250 per shoe if your own shoes are damaged, you also have to buy the bolt kit for the drums and the brake kit with springs pins and bushings, and new s cams if needed and seals, gets very pricy..

im tempted to open it up, but my customer just wants me to pull the pump. I think it a 'knee jerk reaction' to pull the pump..  I have the svc manual for it so, at leaste I have that going for me..  I may just pull the gov. cover off and see if there is something broken..    I hope Glenn add's his thought's, and Vlad,   and hell, once again I can go on and on...  jojo

My problem may have been different not sure but when I started it cold it would race up and then come back to normal,it was getting worse every time I started it,I would pull the back cover and have a look..

And here is our lift table.  Used 4 jacks in the corners.  Much cheaper and sturdier than most of the el-cheapo tables.

Trunnion bar on our dm686SX broke probably 8 years ago. Don't remember what all was involved, I just remember the bar was about 3 to 500 lbs of solid steel. When it broke the external trunnion stand brackets sat down on the spring u bolts.

I think if I were going to go to the effort of replacing bushings (which I plan to this year on one of my trucks that needs springs) I'd replace the bar as well. I don't think it's too difficult, the rear of the truck frame should get set up on blocking or HD metal sawhorse so that the camelbacks hang. If taking the dump bed off isn't a challenge for you then I'd say that's a prudent safety move that may make access a little easier.

The bar on 44 rears is part of the stand, not removable..

Plus your not gonna get any closer! So if you have the money I would do it. Then you know that whole rear suspension is good to go. Also it’s gonna make that job much easier getting it all in one piece.

Agree one hundred percent,on a side note do u know if they make oversized bushings to compensate for a worn trunnion bar, just a thought..

I’m thinking that when you guys say do it right your talking springs, and the whole bit. Which makes the video Onyx610 posted (which I watched) spot on. If doing it right means replacing the springs might as well get the kit in the video where it’s already done. Just installing the springs and insulators.

That would be the way to go if u got the bucks to throw at it, take it apart and see what the bar looks like, you’ll have to measure it and see if it’s within spec or at least close..
