  1. I can't remember which topic I was reading in here about coolant push and fuel mileage, so I guess I'll start my own. Last month I started keeping 460 ASET above 1500 rpms. My coolant push quit and my fuel mileage went up between 11.5% and 12%. Who can explain this? I always thought the less rpms you turn the better your mileage would be. Pulling a tanker, I went from 4.65 to 5.22 and flat bedding from 5.18 to 5.8.
  2. My big red P comes on every so often, you are right it will get your attention. I don't know if anyone else has this happen to them... When I get into a hard pull the little lightning bolt that show the codes comes on for a second or two. If you catch it quick enough and try to get what code it is sending it won't blink any numbers
  3. I have three. 1959 B-81SX 1982 R-686ST 2007 CHN-613 Rawhide I only want one more, probably have to win lottery though, a Mack Jr. pickup. Ican only wish... right?
  4. Hey Double L, do you haul in and out of the refinery? I haul propane out of the back end of the refinery. There are only a handful of us propane haulers that have any class and drive Macks. I don't get in there much in the summer but in the I'm in there 2 or 3 times a day
  5. How much better fuel economy do you get, when you raise the HP with this deal?
  6. The only bad thing that I've heard about curtains is if you have to back into a very narrow dock, The curtain can get bunched up on the sides when it is slid up. Other than that, they look like they are quick and easy.
  7. I have a AC 460E motor and can only get between 4.7 and 4.9 MPG. It has 3.73 gears with a 13 speed overdrive. I was wondering what kind of MPG others are getting. I was at the dealer yesterday and had an injector pump replaced because it was throwing an 84 code repeatedly. They put an update in the computer but the readout showed 4.7 over it's life. Am I going to have to live with this or is there something else wrong.
  8. The R-Model around the corner is retired. She hauls the B-81 around when the weather is nice. I'm gonna pull my covered wagon and a propane tanker/ammonia. We are gonna do some striping on it when things slow down in the spring. It's definitely going to be a work in progress. Thanks for all the comments.
  9. I've had my eye on this truck for a year and a half. I finally got her.
  10. If a person was to buy a CHN-613 with the stacks behind the sleeper. How hard would it be to put them up between the cab and sleeper like on the Rawhide.
  11. Are you based out of the E. St. Louis area? I pull a gas tanker in that area.
  12. I have three Macks all together 1959 B-81SX 1982 R-686ST 2000 CH613 all three are tractors. The CH is the money-maker for the other two antiques. I haul propane in the winter, anhydrous-ammonia in the spring, and grain and steel the rest of my days off from the firehouse. I would love to have a Mack Jr. to round out my collection. It will probably take winning the lottery to get that done. Larry aka "FIREMAN"
