  1. bull dog I tried to post the pics but it says files are too big to up load. sorry it took me so long to see the post. she is a 1973 cf that originally was built for franklin town ship ohio. then viper ky got her. you can see pictures of her on Kentuckyfiretrucks.com look for perry county and then viper fire dept.
  2. wish I would of seen that before we bought our cf 3 weeks ago I would of tried to bought it but the new cf is a real nice truck though
  3. If we get it it will be hauling 2,000 gallons of water. the roads here are curvy and very few straits long enough to get much speed our other tanker which is a 84 L 8000 has the 2308 cat with a 5 speed in it with 2 speed rear and it hauls 2,000 gallons and it does good not the fastest truck on the road but plenty fast enough with that much water. we are also looking and I personally hope we get the other truck I found out about today it is a cf 600 that a local fire dept has that the pump froze and busted when their roof collapsed with the heavy snow we had.in February they have combined with another department and no longer run the truck. if we can get the cf we will take the body and tank off and if the pump is fixable will have it welded and put the 2,000 gallon stainless steel tank on it.
  4. we are looking at a 1987 L8000 truck with a 6.6 or 7.8 engine and a eaton fuller 10 speed trans to make a water tanker out of for our fire department are these good engines? I have never been around one and don't know anything about them. thanks joe
  5. if someone is looking at buying the truck i know where a bed is just like that that came off of a b model tandem axle from pa or nj
  6. I am looking for a set of red lenses for a code 3 mx 7000 light bar to put on our 87 cf we put a set on the 76 cf and they look great and we want to put the other set on so our trucks will look as good as they work thanks joe
  7. I will try and get some on here when we get engine 3 painted and engine 2 lettered I must say when they are outside together it is a beautiful sight with the dogs ready for action.
  8. I live in black mtn about 4 miles from evarts on hwy 215 but we help evarts f d a lot as well as lower clover fork and upper clover fork
  9. the 87 is almost fully repaired I still have to paint her but she is still in service when we get the new engine 2 in service I will finish the 87 the new truck is a great addition to our fleet she might be a 76 model but she still pumps very well and drives great to make it from vals327s place to ours which is 895 miles
  10. no we only have the other 87 cf but I know where a 68 cf is at that is retired because of age and a few minor problems
  11. the yocum creek fire dept would like to thank a few people for the 1976 mack cf fire truck that was delivered to us 8/6/14 we would like to thank GOD for making this happen. don holden ( vals327 ) and mark vitti. and chief james matheny of the Stamford ct police dept and mayor of Stamford ct dave martin and Cromwell fire dept chief Stephen pendi and there members for this beautiful truck
  12. that's a long way from where were located.
  13. mack b67 those brackets and frame extensions look like what we need. we got the truck back and they tried to straighten the brackets but they are still bent just not as bad. what do you want for the brackets and frame extensions.. joe
  14. looks like them but i will check when we get the truck back
  15. the mailing address is yocumcreek vol fire department 225 rail lane Evarts KY 40828 care of joe wynn and thanks again joe
  16. thanks again for your generosity I really thank you all. don you didn't send the wrong message I just didn't want people to think I was posting about the truck to try to get money for a bogus cause like a lot of people do. but like you said you have seen the post from when we got the truck. fxfymn we have applied for them before but to no avail. we didn't do it right but I will pm you we need all the help we can get... joe
  17. don I appreciate your generosity and kindness but before I post the information I want you to know that im not on the site to try to get money from the members I would in no way do that. I like the site and I think of all of the people on here as friends. everyone on here has been helpful in answering questions from hyd brakes on our ford pumper to part #s for parts for my 69 dm600. to searial #s for the neighboring departments macks. I hope that this doesn't sound like im being a smart butt I just want everyone to know that I really appreciate all that you have done to help me personally. but if you still want the mailing address I will post it thank you all very much.....joe
  18. I don't know what the part #s are but we had a chief from another dept give us a few rebuild kits for the valves they had everything but the balls and they still bypass the balls are bad and have a few light scratches but it is still enough for them to bypass under pressure. hopefully if we can save up enough in our general fund we can buy the macks. im still hoping that we can get the magistrate for our district to bring it up in the fisical court meeting and they will vote to give us the money to buy the trucks. but after what ive been told by the chief when he contacted him he aint going to help us. what really burns my butt about that is he is a member of the dept and he was actually the first fire chief when the dept got started in 1984. and he lives roughly a mile down the road so if some thing happens down his way he will be wanting credit for being on the dept but you can bet if he don't at least try to help us when the time comes for re election I will be telling everyone about what he hasn't done.
  19. well thanks to the crooked people at the court house and the so called judge that we have we will not be able to buy the other trucks the so called reason is that they are too old. the last time I checked a 1978 is newer than a 1971. they think it would not be feasible to replace one old truck with another. the 71 ford lafrance we are currently running is still a good truck but pump parts are rare for it we cant even find the seals to rebuild the discharge valves they all bypass water. and with the waterious pump you can get all the parts to rebuild it if the need arises. ive tried to explain this to them but you cant talk to stupid people. well that's my rant for today I just needed to vent I guess joe
  20. ive been around newer pierce and kme trucks a lot and in my opinion they don't even come close to the dependability of the macks and almost all of the firefighters that have fought fire off of a mack will tell you the same thing. for my money you cant beat a mack... if they would get back in the fire truck business with a truck like the C F or the R they could and would put the other mfgs out of business or at least take most of it. I hope that we can get the trucks with the insurance money that we have left after the 87 goes to the shop im going to do the body and paint my self as I used to do that as a side job to save the dept a lot of money.
  21. this is the 78 it is still in service as a back up it is in very good shape engine runs good pump is a waterious 1250 gpm and has 750 tank this truck was refurbed in 93 we are wanting to put this truck in service as our second out to replace our 71 ford lafrance as parts for the pump are hard to find or aer no longer available.
  22. this is the 68 the body was updated in 89 and is in really good shape no rust the compartments are clean and are rust free also the cab on the other hand is in fair shape but has a lot of rust. the engine runs and sounds good the pump engages and pumps it is a waterious 1250 gpm the trans is a 5 speed mack but because of the cab and needing parts this will be the truck we part out.
  23. ]I guess that the fact that he was scared of the truck and that he was not going fast (about 35 mph) and the good lord above is what kept him safe. I went and looked at the site of the accident and for the life of me I cant figure out how the side compartment got dented and scraped up I didn't see anything that could of done it. but I guess some things are ment to be unknown. but on the other hand we went and looked at a couple other trucks one will be for parts and the other is still in service. both are C Fs one is a 78 and the other is a 68.
