  1. side compartment front bumper is not hurt but the pass side frame extension is bent the dent in the cab is not as bad as it was I have almost got it knocked back out the red light lens is super glued back together but not good. I took the air horn off of my coal truck but it don't sound right. this is one of the scene lights that got broke.
  2. that's cool that some people who have made it big still help out their communities.
  3. things haven't changed a lot in the last 20 years our operating budget for one year is 8,500 from the state and 2,500 from the county. and things are only going to get worse with the war on coal. (that's where the state gives us the money from the coal severance tax).
  4. I would like to be able to do that. our department and upper cloverfork fire dept have to beg borrow and bum to be able to get what little we have. so we take pride in what we have no matter where we get it.
  5. that is a nice truck but we wont be able to buy it. the ins company lied to us and were not getting what they quoted us. we will barely be able to fix the 87. im just glad that we got what were getting though.
  6. no it is the one that was from millburn n.j. they still have the other one we was fighting fire with the two of them earlier in the morning of the accident.
  7. yea it used to be we bought it about 2 years ago
  8. thanks I found it I guess im as blind as I am crazy lol
  9. I know this a stupid question but how do you send a private message
  10. thanks do you know how to get in contact with the owner. we would like to possibly buy this truck and update our fleet. I know its not a new truck but with the insurance money from the accident of our other mack we will be able to get it fixed and buy another truck which we really need.
  11. thanks barry for taking the time to look for the parts. joe
  12. the driver was responding to a brush fire (non emergency) and he got close to the shoulder and the road broke off and he went into the ditch. the truck came to rest next to a cliff and a rock sticking out caught the redlight and air horn on the passenger side it left a dent in the cab and in the front compartment (minor damage) when the towing company hooked to it and lifted it back in the road it bent the frame extensions (bumper brackets) on the front. the right side kingpin now has slack in it. I hope it has just busted the bearing. but in any case the truck is going to the local mack dealer to get the king pins replaced and is going to be checked from one end to the other just to be on the safe side. no one was hurt in the accident but the driver has told us he wont be driving the truck anymore and that he blames himself for the accident. but like we told him things happen all the time. he is a good driver and now he is scared to death of the trucks.
  13. we are looking to buy a newer truck and I saw this truck but there isn't any information on where this truck is from except its from Connecticut. the selling firm didn't give any info as to who owns it just the minimal specs it is a 1991 with a 350 engine and a 1000 gpm pump and 750 gal tank. if any of you could give me any information on the truck I would greatly appreciate it. I looked on fdnytrucks and didn't see it but I might of over looked it. thanks joe
  14. thought about buying another cf to get the parts from does any one know where there is one for sale
  15. the spotlights didn't work anyway so like you said it might be best to take them off. I don't know of anyone around here that does frame or fab work anymore and for the life of me I cant remember what the air horn has cast on the back of it. I suffer from crs
  16. our 1987 cf was in a accident and I am looking for a few parts to fix it back. I need a set of bumper brackets for a extended bumper (don't know if there is a difference ) need a spot light and a air horn with brackets for the pass side. if any of you have any or know where I can get them I would appreciate the information thanks in advance joe
  17. the transmission is a 740 and thanks for all of the information you all have gave
  18. it has some kind of red oil in it right now I was kind of thinking it might be dextron 3 or something like that. the oil smells fine and its not black or anything I was just going to change it to keep it on the time schedule it has been on
  19. im getting ready to do some servicing on the cf and I was told that the trans fluid for the Allison trans is a special type. is this true and if so what type does it take. thanks joe
  20. everything is going ok with the mack we are going to have the king pins replaced though they have some slop in them and we cant get them to tighten up one of my mechanic friends says the bushings are bad so were going to replace both pins just to be on the safe side
