  1. thanks. i was not sure. got to keep looking.
  2. on a tandemn axle does the front drive shaft yokes from the trans and the short driveshaftyokes between the axles all have to line up? could this be my problem with a wobble around 35-40mph??? i had my front ujoint replaced and i think the alignment of the yokes may be off.
  3. thanks rob. good info. so if my front rear is in a little more than my rear rear, do you think bad torque rod or does my transverse rod need adjustment? my front torque rod does seem to angle inwards a bit. its does not run exactly square with the frame. i replaced a broken leaf, had all the insulator pads replace and the u joint looks fine. my other problem is, and i think they may be related, is i have a shake/wobble at about 35-40. if i i give it fuel the wobble doesnt seems as bad. do you think maybe bad torque rod would cause this or trunion bushings?? where can i place a hyd jack to lift my rear axles?
  4. ok thanks guys. i did have the pads replaced and found one broken leaf. had that replaced also. still seems off. but i did notice the one rod from the 2nd to 3rd axle does not seem to run parallel with the frame. this is the torque rod not the transverse rod. do you think maybe the bushings in that torque rod is bad? what does the torque rod and the transverse rod actually do?
  5. how tight should the nuts be on a transverse toque rod. this is the rod that goes from the rear axle to the frame? i understand the transverse rod is the one that goes to the frame and a torque rod goes between the rear axles. is that correct? i noticed my front torque rod is not exactly parallel with the frame, and my front rear tires on the driver side are in more than my rear tires. the previous owner replaced the transverse rod, but i am thinking it didnt line up proper and thats why my tire is in more on one side. he used washers for spacers do you think i should remove a couple of washers to realign the rear? thanks
  6. anybody have any pointers on removing my air compressor on a mack e7 300 engine? thanks in advance.
  7. hey guys. how does a guy adjust the fuel on a bosch fuel pump on a 96 e7 300 engine. i bought the truck used and it seems the pedal is very sensitive and just the slightest bump on the road will make the truck take off like a bat out of hell. i would like to slow her down if possible. i think the previous owner bumped her up. thanks in advance.
  8. i have a wobble on my 96 mack at about 35-40 mph. if i go faster the wobble goes away. i did notice my pass side rear insulator pads need replacing and also i just noticed one leaf spring on the camelback is broken on the same side. do you think this could be my problem. thanks in advance
  9. thanks. what does the blow by vent on the valve cover look like? is it threaded or just a nipple? thanks
  10. thanks. i wasnt planning on taking it off, just replacing it with a spin on filter. i decided to leave it alone. can you tell me the proper place that the small hose on top of the centrimax housing is suppose to go. my hose is gone and was not there when i bought the truck. i believe its to go to the valve cover, but where? i also read that some people just block it off. what do you think? thanks in advance
  11. sorry. i am gonna leave the old housing on. there is a small vent that is suppose go to the v/cover i think, but i noticed some people just route a hose towards the ground. is that ok thanks alot
  12. ok thanks. how about the vent on top of this housing. can a guy just route the hose towards the ground?
  13. can a spin on filter be installed instead of a centrimax cartridge type filter? also the small vent tube on the top of the filter housing, can a guy just put a hose on it and direct it to ground? thanks
  14. evaporator goes between your dryer and your first tank. its a container where you fill with air line antifreeze. as the air is pumped through it sucks up the air line antifreeze as a mist and pumps to your tank. works great. cheap addition and a easy install. only about 60.00 dollars. i am in canada and on one of my trucks thats all i have i dont even have a dryer and i never froze up yet. just drain your tanks daily. also i think if you replace the rubber air hose coming off your compressor with a steel/copper line that would definatly help your freez problem. the line will stay warm that way.
  15. how can i check my fuel sending unit. it shows full on the gauge, but it is actually about half. could the float be sticking? i dont know if its the gauge or the sending unit. thanks
  16. thanks. so i dont have to worry about any fluids or liquid in the line if i replace it.
  17. just noticed on my 96 e7 engine that on my centrimax bypass oil filter housing my small vent line is off and no where to be found. where does this line hook up to. thanks everybody. one hell of a great website!!
  18. thanks for your knowledge rob!!!
  19. thanks trent. i will dig into it a little deeper and see whats going on. but i know for sure the one insulator pad has let go from its pin. good place to start. thanks again
  20. i noticed my front dr side rear tandem is in about 2 inches more than the others. i noticed my insulator pad on that side is worn, not sure if both upper and lower pads are worn but one for sure. would this cause the misalignment. i am gonna replace both pads. the other 3 tires seem fine. i will try to get a pic, but not too sure if it will show up. i also noticed i have only on trans torque rod, and its on the rear rear axle. should there be one on the front rear axle also? rite now there is a rod going inbetween the 2 axles and one from the rear axle to the frame.
  21. thanks. so would you recomend back to factory specs. lh on the left side and rh on the rite side?
  22. so do you think the other side would be the same. what i meant was on one side and one tire there were lh and rh studs. is that normal for the old style bud. i think it would proibably be a good idea to replace them to lh. what do you think thanks
  23. thanks for the info.
  24. sorry the pic was too big. i believe their buds. the truck is a 96 mr 688s refuse truck. thanks
  25. here is a pic. i am not sure on the difference hub styles. thanks
