Bump, she's not getting run with the granite back in the fleet and I'd like to see her go to a good home. Price is still the same but I will entertain offers as it does need a few things: Steering box Will need Rear brakes in the near future A few drips here and there Otherwise a very solid truck. PM for details. Thanks!

Looks like I'll be getting the granite either way so if she sells that's fine, if not that's ok too!

You could put 44's under it, I think there is room!

I have a chance to buy my granite back (really regret selling it) so I am looking to sell my R model. It has an EM7 300 with a dynatard and a 6 speed air shift. The box is 11' with an air gate and manual tarp. It has a pintle with air and electric to rear. Its a solid older truck that is ready to work and has a lot of life left. It isnt perfect but its ready to work. I'm pretty motivated so make me an offer. $12,500 OBO

I am thinking of switching to hub pilot hubs and wheels on my RD, it's going to need brakes soon so I'm thinking it would be good to do it all at the same time. My main reason for wanting to do this is to Eliminate wheel wobble, and for the ease of changing tires and brakes. From what I understand its not a big deal to do, I'm mostly concerned about what to do with the old hubs and rims. From what I can see on here they should sell, how much would they be worth? They have about 190,000 on them. It would be nice to sell them to off set the cost of the conversion. Any thoughts or advice on this project? Thanks!!

Looks great , nice job!!! -
Thats cool, he definitely seemed like a great guy. Lots of people honking when they went by, couple guys stopped to talk shop for a minute, I got the feeling he was well respected in the community. He didn't say anything about the house being moved, but I can't blame him it seems like a much nicer spot where it is now.

Heres my "new" RD690P. 1991 with 185,000 original miles. EM7 300 with a dynatard, and a T2060. I need to get my lettering on it etc but hopefully she'll be hauling this week!! -
So I finally bought an R model single axle dump. Drove her home yesterday 150 miles or so and she never missed a beat! She's ready for work, but I will definitely do some little things like paint the frame and wheels and do rear brakes this summer. Probably will paint her navy blue next winter. The only thing I can find fault with right now is the doors rattle. Is there some sort of adjustment in the latch to make them hold tighter? She has a EM7 300 with a dynatard and a T2060 trans. Heavy fronts and rears (not exactly sure what they are) 11' box with room for a pusher axle some time down the road. Hopefully tomorrow I can get to DMV and start hauling with her. Edit: I didn't buy the trailer too, just the truck.

The one at iron mart is definitely sweet, but if I get $60K for the granite, Im not sure I could justify giving half of it away for that truck, seems a bit high to me. I'm definitely scared of the one on CL in VT, I would almost guarantee its rustier than it appears, plus the box is too short and the plow gear makes it too heavy. I might have to settle for a CH if I can't find an R that makes me happy.

Its in NH, we are downsizing and the Granite will be sold. I really want to find a clean R model single axle to replace it. This truck looks pretty clean, I have an email in, will try to call tomorrow. What I would like in a truck: CLEAN!!! 12 fronts 23 rears 275-300 HP/ Jake Mack 6 or 7 spd or Fuller 8LL 10-12' box tarp pintle with air and electric. THANKS!!!!!!

New generation of Mack Addicts
nedly05 replied to 607t1173's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I'm 31. I grew up around construction and trucks. We had 3 GMC 7500 single axles (still have one of them) until I was in my early teens, when my Father bought a 1985 R688ST tractor conversion that had seen better days. I drove it right after I got my CDL for a couple years, then we sold it to a neighbor who uses it as a site truck. We now have a 2005 Granite and a 2003 CH 613 tractor conversion, and the 74 RD (which has gotten the name "one stack mack with the crack in the back") I took my little girl (3 YO) for a ride in the granite this past summer to get a load of stone, she absolutely loved it! I'm definitely a mack fan, I would love to find a clean R model single axle for my operation. -
Bump...someone must need some good parts...make an offer!

http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/28289-1974-rd685-dump-please-help-with-frame-and-jake-issues/ I have this old girl for sale. I'm looking at another 6 grand or so to do the frame, and with the granite and the ch its not going to get run. I'm willing to take a big loss on it. I would like to see it go to a BMT member that will get something out of it. I'm going on Vacation till 2/13, if I can't sell it before the 15th I will probably take it to the scrap yard. I would like to get $6500 OBO for it. (wife wants it gone) My loss is your gain, for 12 grand or so you can have a solid old truck. I have more in it than that now. The only known issues are the frame cracks, and it looks like some bolts should be replaced on the suspension. 20 Fronts 58 Rears ENDT 675 237 2 stick 6 speed 14' box (heated) manual tarp manual gate Air/Electric to rear. Pintle hook. PM or respond here if interested, THANKS!!
