  1. Last time out west I think those 5 axles can do 94 and Change.

Mack I think Ar changed there weights to 70K on a tridem. But the tires and axles must match or be rated. Was talking to Jacob about that and he said it is raised now

Thats a Good thing since AR Raised thier Weight limits . I Knew the old man hated going into AR To work because of that very reason Esp w/ the 1 Tri axle ACAR he had back in the late 80's & Early 90's . Eventually the Acar became a Tandem too before he sold it around 95.

  2. Um, TN is 74000 on a triaxle, not 79000, and if your on the interstate they are starting to watch bridge law which puts most triaxles around 53000#. Of course this is around middle TN but the state shows 66000# on a tandem, 74000# on a triaxle and 80,000# on a quad or 5 axle truck and trailer.

Thanks for the correction bud . guess i had a brain fart .. :loldude:

I Know some that will carry 79,000 W/ the tri axles here around the backwoods . & i herd by a buddy that has a tri axle Vulva of his own that is leased on w/ 1 of the big paving companies in Memphis they were starting to watch the bridge laws Here . & we are starting to see a few quads here around Memphis . 1 of the big paving companies has Quad axle Sterlings here .

& When we had our tandems we worked in the backwoods of the Millington, & Tipton county area & my old man would load like a tri axle & heap dirt up as long as he was in the backwoods But if we were on the interstate or running the highways he would load the trucks no more than 19 to 20 tons of material make sure he was under 66k & have the load under the side boards & tarp pulled back .

  3. After i was told by my doctor in 2013 i could get my CDL Back after Loosing them in 2007 due to health problems . Now that i have my health back & loosing 150lbs , the State of TN Said that id have to have an automatic Due to the Ceberal Palsy In my left side . So i fought them the 1st time back in the mid 90's when i 1st got my Class B & proved to them i could drive a Duplex, triplex & quadbox . matter fact i took my test in the 77'DM Mack dump we had @ the time w/ 237 & 2 stick 6spd . But this time im thinking of letting them have thier way as a Auto would be eaiser on me due to how my left side likes to lock up a little more esp during the cold winter months . I Just hope they dont totally restrict me to an Auto .

Now days i help a couple of buddies cut grass & do quite a bit of landscape work. I Still haul recaps for my buddies in the tire business some (that helps keep my sanity of being around a truck ) but the lawncare & staying in the gym helps keep me in shape & helps keep my CP a Little more limber & my body doesnt get as tight as when i was in the operators & drivers seat all the time .

I'm wanting to go out on my own either this year or next w/ my own lawn care service & start off w/ a few small yards But a few years after that id like to have a small single axle dump to go w/ the lawn service & haul the small loads of dirt, sand, mulch, pro mix, & gravel. i would buy a small dump w/ a manual But in my case & the long run due to my left side im getting where i perfer a automatic in everything i drive even my personal rides .

  5. I love that black and white combination. And the sound of the turbo brings back so many memories of my childhood, riding shotgun in my old man's two F-Models......I can't tell you how many times the whine of that turbo and the sound of the Robert Bosch injection put me to a happy sleep in the passenger seat, "riding with my daddy." I miss those days. I'm going to send these to him, he will enjoy.

Yep me 2 Yardo But w/ me it was R Models, DM Models & of course Old Dog (B Model )

If they wanted me to take a nap when i was young & before school age pop would send me w/ a driver or would put me in old dog since he had a bench seat .

Id fall asleep listening to a stright piped 237 ,711 or 300 Mack W/ NO A/C & Windows down in 90* heat .

  6. Looks Good 79,000 Is what we can gross on a tri axle here in TN Too .

Funny thing is here around Memphis being a tri state area . You can legally carry 24.5 tons of material w/ a tri axle In TN . BUT Across the state line in MS OR AR its only like 15 tons of material. w/ a Tandem or Tri axle either one . But back in the day We worked around the TN/MS Stateline around Olive Branch & Southaven,MS w/ a Tandem & i wouldnt be surprised if myself, the old man & crew wasnt grossing 79,000 w/ a tandem the way we loaded the trucks . We rarly crossed the river into AR W/ Our Trucks .

  7. Well since I was named after Dad's B Model Yall can guess what 1 childhood nickname of mine was & still is .

Bulldog is the most common handle that is used though w/ certain close friends there are exceptions .

Some buddies from Middle & High School Call me Mack Daddy . Some of them drive now & weather they see me in person or on the road & holler @ me on the radio , or call my phone they use Mack Daddy ...lol

Thank God its not too common I never thought of myself as a Mack Daddy :loldude:

While others I went to school with called me Mack Attack . Im still called That from time to time by certain folks .

& I Too have had my share of Connex & Cobra Radios Most w/ Fire in the wire , RoadKing Mics & skip shooter Atennas . .

  8. Very Nice LoadStar . Congrats on your great Find !

I Always liked the looks of a Tilt hood IH LoadStar over the Butterfly hood IH LoadStar .

There was an old Roadway IH Load Star 1850 that had a 6V53 Detroit & 5&2 transmission that spotted trailers @ the local Sandusky Cabinet plant here in Millington .

Not sure what happened to the old truck as I hadn't seen it there in a few years now . it was a clean truck w/ the RoadWay Colors Paint .

I Myself would like to find a 66-73 R Model single axle :mack1: Dump.

  9. This video came up as a recommend from YT So I watched it !

    1st thing came to mind was oh s**t that's Randy's truck .

Glad to know it wasn't Randy & that the driver was ok .

That would make anyone change their Hanes & Levi's right there on the spot .

We never had a lowboy get hung up on a RR Crossing even w/ the last lowboy we had .

A rogers 35 Ton Fixed neck that was So low to the ground we could load from the side if need be .

I Hated that trailer cause I & the Man that drove our lowboy most of the time always thought that trailer would got us killed by hanging on a crossing .

    I Hate that feeling

We got hung up coming in & out of jobsites w/ the last trailer a time or 2 but NEVER On the RR Crossing .

I've herd some Horror Stories about lowboys getting hung up on the RR Crossings though .
