I made a decision to become a Christian, I always believed in God and all that but I never followed the Christian way of life. My biblical name means Laural-Crowned which means to wear the crown of victory, which means I'm victorious in whatever I do. It's not that I lived a bad life or anything, I just want to become a Christian and better my life so I can repent my sins. I plan to get baptized here soon as well.

Got to be 21 to drive school bus and companies want experience with Class A, Class B won't count for squat. I'm not giving up at all!

LL, most of your posts seem to be about politics. This is a forum about trucks, and Mack trucks in particular. If you want to become a truck driver you'll accomplish more by learning to be the best driver you can be instead of calling people you don't like names.

they had sent me out to have a wee test and the interveiw ask for uniform size.

I have asked people such as a manager at jiffy lube, my mom and dad. All these thoought there is a strong chance that i might have the job.

You are to be commended for seizing that brief window of opportunity, and also for debiting my account $30 by way of penalty for the inconvenience caused to your bank. My thankfulness springs from the manner in which this incident has caused me to rethink my errant financial ways.

CCW is besides the point. All I am seeing is that you have to abide by whatever laws are in place pertaining to transporting the type of firearm in question. I have not seen any differentiation between "private" vehicles and "commercial" vehicles in regards to what is legal and what is illegal. For example, if you can carry a loaded pistol in the cab of your pickup truck without any permits (as in Missouri if you are over 21) then it would be legal to do the same in a semi truck. You would only need a carry permit in a state which required them. In other states, as Illinois, you would have to have it unloaded and encased (if you are a resident with a FOID) and inaccessible or broken down in addition to being unloaded and encased if you are NOT an Illinois resident. In an open carry state which allows long guns to be loaded in the gun rack in the back window of a pickup, it ought be legal to do so in a semi too.

I've looked, but I have never seen any regs prohibiting firearms in commercial vehicles. Seems to me that would fall under the recent Heller decision, as the Congress is prohibited from infringing upon the right to keep and bear arms...and an agency borne out of a congressional act...acting upon authority given to it by the Congress...would be bound to the same limitations as the Congress itself.

From what I read, as long as that state allows CCW then it's ok.

Four children ranging in age from 11 to 15 turned a pit bull loose on two women in SeaTac on Sunday night.

One of the women had serious injuries. Deputies arrested all four of the children.

The King County Sheriff's Office said the incidents started about 6:30 p.m. in the 13300 block of Des Moines Memorial Drive in SeaTac.

A 63-year-old woman stopped her car when she saw the four kids kicking a pit bull. She stopped to help, but a 15-year-old girl told her to mind her own business.

Then she tried to pull the woman from the car. The woman got out only to have the 15-year-old girl set upon her, punching her in the head.

One of the boys ran up with the dog, which bit her. She suffered bruises and puncture wounds on her hand and thigh from the dog.

The four -- the 15-year-old girl and three boys, who were 13, 12 and 11 -- ran off.

A 41-year-old woman from Seattle saw the attack and followed the kids to North SeaTac Park.

The 15-year-old girl then attacked that woman, head-butting and punching her.

The dog was loosed on her and grew more and more violent as the children encouraged it.

The woman had serious bite wounds to her head and face and gashes and puncture wounds to both arms. Her left arm was injured so badly that bone could be seen, the Sheriff's Office says.

Sheriff's deputies found all four children and took them into custody.

They released them to their parents since the 15-year-old needed medical attention. The dog bit her, and she hurt her foot trying to kick one of the women.

Deputies turned the dog over to animal control.

The Sheriff's Office says the 15-year-old girl could face felony assault charges.

The one thing that would be "prettier" than that is sitting in the driver's seat with the passenger side window rolled down and listening to it in person!

You suffer from one of two things, old timers or a new pair of glasses. I'm just messing with ya Mike.

Are you referring to your temps, not your actual license? You should be able to add the extras(tank, doubles, hazmat) even after you take your actual road test, but before you get your printed license.

As for driving jobs, likely won't get much help from anyone now. With no experience and with the HUGE pool of drivers finding an opening is slim. You'll have to start out with the low name companies and get your 1-2 yrs in so you can find a better place. Unless you know someone that will mentor you in a small company? Usually the insurance companies will restrict driving for newbies. You'll be stuck intrastate til your 21 anyhow.

I don't mind running instate, I prefer to actually. I can't get hazmat because I'm not 21, otherwise I would have got hazmat. I don't plan on pulling double/triples. Yeah it's the temp license, it's only good for a year. I know I won't get much help cause I got my age, lack of experience, and insurance companies against me.

The endorsements are just a "simple" 20 questions each. Get 16 of 20 and you pass. I didn't even study for doubles/haz mat and only missed each by ONE question. Didn't need either, but doesn't cost extra to take test. Did get the tanker.

I already have the permit but it's due to be retaken next month. I didn't study for any of them, it's pretty much common sense. My main goal is to find someone to hire me even though I'm 19 (next month) and have no "driving" experience.

Well I'm engaged but it feels like I been married to her for years.

I'm getting ready to go to trucking school either in September or October and was wondering if anyone of you knew of anyone who hired an 19 year old to drive a truck? I know it's a long shot and I tried down here and companies who I thought would hire me told me I need to have experience or be over 21. All I have now is the CDL class A permit with double/triples, tankers, and air brakes. I may when I go retake my test next month drop my double/triple but keep the tanker.

Your too young to be thinkin bout trucks. Shucks before ya know it, you'll start thinkin bout GIRLS. Then you'll get messed up fur sure. Try and stay away from anything that can and will run over you. A truck will most of the time run over you only once, but women will keep running over you day after day, year after year.
