mike- your truck looks great. i am in paint stage for mine now. we painted misc. frame parts this weekend. i will be painting rims pretty soon and noticed the gray rims on your truck. did you match gray from anything? i wasn't sure how to find a good rim color yet. my chassis and cab are green.

i did put a new image in my garage photos of parts hanging in paint bay. we are working on body panels now, but progress is slow. thanks, aj

So when I was at Macungie last year I bought a pair of Mack work boots at the factory store for a mere 20 bucks. I thought I got a good deal, turns out I was wrong. Aside from the nice box (picture of an RD logger, RW, MH R, CH) the boots are junk. I should have posted this months ago but I never got around to it. My friend also bought a pair and his pair was garbage as well.

What happened to them? My friends pair lasted all of five days before the rubber sole completely ripped off when he took a step. On my pair they lasted slightly longer about two weeks before the sole on the left boot began to separate from the boot and then cracked.

Its a shame Mack had their name put on garbage and marketed as foot wear.I had a pair of CAT boots that lasted me years.

remember when boots had sewn soles and they actually sized your foot in the store to ensure proper fit? and they could afford to carry more than 4 sizes? and you didn't have to settle for "this is as close as i have."?

The B53S was a single frame concrete mixer chassis that came out in '63. I think B-61's were made during the entire B-model run. There were more B-61's made than any other B-model.

in the back of my photo archive mack book it lists the B53 as built from 1962-1966 with 2,625 units built.

i decdided to only use my b61t for parades and exhibition and such when i get er done. so i took my pto off from the working days. the only trailer i could see behind me now might be a little flat trailer or something. basically, it depends on your own intentions.

A configured R model cab, and hood to fit a B model running gear and chassis.

i bought some rims for a B model from david. they are exactly as he described. he kept me informed every step of the way thru our transaction from inquiry, to shipping, to delivery at my door. very honest and easy to do business with.

here is pic of my frame rail. my serial number is towards the bottom of the rail. i'm sure everyone can tell us if all the years are approx the same spot.(as far as at the bottom or middle or whatever.) you might try cleaning towards the bottom a little more though.

i know it was really interesting and helpful to receive info from mack museum after finding the serial #.

i dont really have much expertise myself, but i tore my truck down to frame myself and cab is at body shop now.

i am still amazed at the parts i found available to put it all back together.

mack museum can tell you when truck was produced or shipped.

You would think some where along the line that if the driver was on the right, the exhaust would be on the left.

So...since the Med card is only good for 2 yrs and the license is 4, you'll have to stop in the DMV to update it on the off years? Forget and you might end up on the wrong end of the law!

Ohio didn't ask for mine this year either. Guess some are slower then others at getting up to speed on this crap. Oh what fun.

i update my med card every 2 years and my employer keeps this record. and of course i carry my updated card. i have never been asked at license bureau for proof of med card. it is not recorded on license anywhere. you just need it if you get pulled over.

i had one of the best holidays ever- a friend of mine invited me to come out to colorado and spend the weekend. we rode 4-wheelers on friday and rafted the colorado river on saturday. that is such beautiful country out there. then we got back home to ohio before we wore out our welcome.
