Would be good to see Mack get away from the standard lookn truck of aerodynamically design
Guessn the bulldog shaped cab may use a bucket or 2 of fuel xtra a year as it does not look aerodynamic
but hay .............. bring it on .............. go 4 it

Here on D udder side of the world they tend to over engineer most things purely for survival
most heavy duty sleepers are mounted on a continuous sub frame from the front of cab to the rear of the sleeper box
so it all rides together over our ruff roads
the walk in sleeper I removed was 64 inch it only had a thing rubber type gasket to keep the water n dust out
here is the removal of the hi rize walkin sleeper from a 2010 Mack Titan

Them backing plates look like aluminium
normally alloy to get the same strength as steel it needs to be a lot thicker .... and the little bit more in profile will offset the backing plate and alter the alignment if you switch to steel ............ or vise versa
Just guessn outside the square here

RE: 'F' Model rust
din the yanky F models have a fibre glass cab ??
here in OZ they started with tin cab then made m all fibreglass
the doors rattled sum so they went back to steel doors n F/Glass cab
F/Glass doors with mirror support to lower section of door
F'Glass Cab with steel doors (no mirror support needed

What normally happens:
the threaded wheel stud gets damaged
and when U undo the nut... the nut grabs on the damaged part of thread and the xtra force needed to undo is transferred to where the stud is screwed into the hub spoke and starts undoing... then u can have different lengths of the stud protruding from the spoke
Best to remove stud clean threads (thread chaser n tap)
screw the stud into spoke using 2 nuts locked together as a lock nut do up ........ just B 4 'F' tight undo the lock nuts etc
n U B right to go

A 10.00 x 20 is 20 inch rim 10 inches of rubber in height & width
11.00 x 20 would/could/should be 20 inch rim 11 inches rubber in height & width
unless U R fully loading the beast for long runs it may cut the side clearance each side of tyre by 1/2 inch

they B a lot better than an 'R' model rust wize
the KW cabs were mostly Alloy on a steel frame n fibreglass
the conventional KW cabs all seem to rust on the cab frame just Bhind the door handles
U can see the rust bubblin away Btween cab steel frame and the alloy panel
me thinx it iz all 2 do with not enuff air circulation
