  1. Sounds like a process of elimination

if you cruising along can u take the stik out of gear as in nuetral

let the engine go to idle revs

then rev upto the same revs as when U hit neutral

and the gear stik should slide back in to the same cog

no need for clutch on this proceedure

  4. the early maxidynes with a 5 speed relied on a good clutch brake to kill revs Btween gears

the next V: they used the engine brake to kill the revs and do a quik shift. U could pull the gear lever stright thru ,It twas the next best thing to a automatic

U did half the gear changes compared to a screemer /road ranger set up

The late 60's we fitted jake brakes to B61 mack with Quadbox ....most effective in saving brakes as most Lowboys of th@ era had air over Hyd brakes

thinkn way back wen Engine brakes produced ruffly 90% of retardation power of the engine HP

rule of thumb twas wot ever gear U pull a load/hill U could go down the hill with the same load & gear with only lightly fannin the brakes to control the rev speedmy tax my taz free info for the day

    LOL

    gudday m8

    Thanx for the reply

I might have missed the info on your mack projectwithout being too nosey

What speed was the beast able to travel @ ?

How long duz a fully charged battery in miles take you ?

Has the truck appeared @ any truck shows ?

    RE: 35690051201_09fd416b34_b.jpg

    They normally slide in

the wacking with a B F Hammer or F B Hammer is from removing the axle

U give it a big hit in the middle and the axle rebounds and jumps out a bit

    gr8 info Keith

    Thanx in advance

    gudday m8

RE: Back when two stacks were closer to the center of the cab for a reason other than looks

Originally the KW 1/2 truck had a V6-71 and th@ put the winch hard up against the cross over exhaust to our passenger side of cab

when we shoe horned the V8 in it worked out easier to run the exhaust straight back and up each side of the winch

with 2 mufflers it did not quient the beast down so to Answer the Q: the exhausts are inline with the exhaust manifold outlet

    #1

    RE:  Is the pedals backwards

the pedals are the same set up as wot u run

right foot go pedal ............ Left foot clutcherator with the stoppers between the 2
