  1. Does anybody have the original paint code or a code close to the original green found inside a B model? Thanks, Bob
  2. Sweet! and only $100! Mine doesn't seem to work right. I put it on and it takes a long time to start to work and then doesn't seem to stop the engine really quick. When you shut it off and turn it right back on it takes quite a while for to do anything again. I installed it by the book so am not sure whats wrong. Figured it needed a rebuild and I figured the parts would be expensive as could be, but I am wrong on 1 part. Any advice helps alot. Thanks, Bob
  3. I have heard the parts between the Tec Brake and the Jacobs are interchangeable. Does anybody know for sure? If not where do I find a rebuild kit for my 675 Jacobs? Bob
  4. I have heard rumors that the parts from the tec brakes are interchangeable with the Jacobs. Does anybody know for sure? Bob
  5. I had some lines off the 237 the other day. put them back on and they leaked. I found then threr were little copper washers between the injection line and injector that were out. Put them back in and it is fine. I've never seen or heard of such a thing. Is that a common thing I just haven't ran into yet? Bob
  6. I didn't feel that the original oil bath was enough for my B61 with the endt675. (237) So I got a 4" K&N filter thats like 1600 cfm. Haven't driven it yet but I think it will work good. Just used some 3" PVC pipe fittings and mounted it under hood. Drilled the piping for the air compressor too. I would have liked to get air from outside for my intake but wasn't feasable underhood easily. Maybe put Air intake under hood like my setup and hook the intercooler to the orig oil bath. Never studied a tip turbine so I don't know it it will work. Bob
  7. Correct. "peanuts" are automatically locked, (left/right). Power divider locks front/back. As you said not all rears have "peanuts" or a power divider. I have never messed with an auto power divider so... My log truck has "full locking" rears. Power divider, and wheel lock on both axels, which equals true 4 wheel drive. But like Trent said, not all are sut up that way. And I have tried stabbing the brakes while spinning and sometimes it helps. As far as to answer the original question, If the wheels were off the ground it would be possible for the set of duals on one side of the truck to spin, as long as they were completly off the ground and the other side was touching. Thus being said, engauging the PD wouldn't have made it look like anything happened. It could be the engauging mech. is stuck on, but I'm guessing something would have shown signs by now. I've left my PD in for a long time in the woods and didn't hear any other noises. Maybe just a wisker more of a whine on pavement, but nothing an untrained ear could hear. If it were mine and I was worried I would pull the engauging mech. out and check. Don't remember what it looks like on Mack rears, but its simple on Rockwells. Good Luck, Bob
  8. I thought Macks had power divider (front/back) or "peanuts" which were supposed to lock the wheels (right/left) together. Peanuts are automatically engaged when the wheels spin. The power divider is engaged manually. The trucks with power dividers get around better than trucks with peanuts. I guess peanuts don't always engage correctly. Power dividers engage always. I know in my log truck the power divider helps the most. Lock the wheel locks in and it goes good, but it slides sideways easy. Bob
  9. I use my jake ALL the time wether loaded or empty. Usually on hi or med. But my truck weight 34000 lbs empty. Using the jake empty isn't bad. Sometimes you have to be careful with it in slippery conditions. The wheels could slide causeing you to possibly lose control. On my Autocar with an N14 however it has ABS brakes and when the wheels slip a little tiny itsey bitsey bit it shuts the jake off. Kind of a pain in the woods but... As far as useing it for a long time, I wouldn't think it would hurt it. Thats what they were made to do. I suppose it it was bad for the engine the truck companies would have put timers on the engines so the brakes shut off automatically. And for a rebuild, After a very long time they get weaker, as does everything else. I would think it would last at least as long as the engine without a rebuild. Not sure, but my guess. Bob
  10. Oh man, I wish I would have waited a little longer. I just bought 6 used ones for $25 clams each. I would have definately considered swapping my 6 for your 4 and some cash. Let me get mine all back together and I'll get ahold of you, if your interested. Bob
  11. I bought a Jake to put on my 237. I tore into it today only to find the disc that sit on top of the exhaust valves won't fit. I measured and found the ring in the center of the disc was too thick to let it sit down in where it belongs. Kind of sucks because it would have been back together before now. So, do they make different discs or am I going to have to change valves. Hopefully I can just buy them or I have a lathe and the knowledge to make my own. Whats my best bet? Bob
  12. I would agree about dragging a log to slow down would work just as good as my Dynatard. For Stage 2 on my truck I have a big foam hand with the word stop on it I stick out the window. LOL! I would compare the Dynatard to 1.5-2 power on my N14 Cummins. It works but was hoping a Jake would work better. Never drove a Mack with a Jake so... Also I have heard Dynatards are hard on the cams. IDK, Bob
  13. I have a '88 Superliner that has a 350 E6 4 valve. Its got a Dynatard. I got a Jacobs brake setup given to me. The numbers say its for an E7 4 valve. Just wondering if it will fit, and what I am going to need to get before I put it on. Is it even worth monkeying with? I have been told that the Jakes work alot better that Dynatards, but, this is already setup and works. I was also told if it ain't broke don't fix it! Thanks, Bob
  14. I have Neway air ride under my '88 Superliner. It is an oilfield truck (tractor) and I haven't had problems with it going in the woods. It is very stable and rides good too. I think the 8 bag air ride and Hendrickson air ride gives the others a bad name. I like mine alot. I don't know anything about dumptrucks, but, I'm entitled to my own opinion... Bob
