  1. TRICKLE DOWN TYRANNY

The National Defense Authorization Act signed secretly into law on New Year's Eve by President Obama. Give the federal military authorization to arrest any American citizen on US soil. (?)

POTUS' solution to trillions in new debt: print more money, crippling taxpayers and our children with unlimited debt while corrupt crony supporters continue to loot our economy.

Attorney General has shipped weapons to Mexico, turning our southern border into a war zone as gangs of drug thugs and human traffickers endanger America.

POITUS has hobbled our military, reducing the Navy to the smallest force since 1930 and rendering us unable to maintain our advanced weapons and technological advantages.

What does POTUS do as Iran spews genocidal dictates, promising to "annihilate Israel?" He abandons our ally and continues to push a "diplomatic" solution to this threat.

POITUS is actively creating a populace dependent on the federal government for welfare, healthcare, food stamps, housing and unemployment payments.

  2. $52 for a lrg tank of Acetyline, $46 for oxygen and $122 for Argon 85 in a 75/25% mix.I average 2 acet and 3 Oxygen a week average and one mix every 3 weeks average. I know LOX is all most double the cost for equal CFM but never looked into using it. Do you need special parts to convert from liquid to gas? Paul

  3. That right there is a nice piece of machinery. I wish there were more antique equipment shows near me, the only one I know of in the show out in LI during July. Even have a barn full of old engines and electric motors/generators. Long Island Antique Power Association hosts it.

I love the old school steam stuff. In Brooklyn there is a treasure for steam fanatics, the Pratt engine room. Located on the campus grounds of Pratt Institute it is the home of the original power station erected there at the turn of the century. All three Ames Iron Works reciprocating piston DC generators are still cared for and are operational. The marble switch panel (think knife switches, big blade fuses and carbon arc circuit breakers.) is untouched and still distributes power around the building when part of it was converted to handle AC. I went there a few times and sort of know Conrad Milster the chief engineer who is a real steam guru. He is the guy who people call when repairing or restoring steam engines. Once while talking to him he knew I really appreciated the equipment and said I had a rare knowledge and interest. Said he needed help but in order to work there you needed a boiler operators license to work on steam equipment that run on 100+ PSI steam. I looked into getting one but its one of those chicken and egg problems, you need experience with steam equipment to qualify but you cant work on them unless you have the license. Most guys who get those licenses worked in submarines/aircraft carrier engine rooms (nuclear boilers running steam turbines) or were firemen tending heating boilers in large buildings part time.

Anyone else here a steam head?

Come to the Spring Plowing and Fall Harvest, about 1/3 are steam powered machines.

A good friend is a Pratt got to go there for Pratts New Years Steam Whistle Blow. Saw the power plant many times, I'm always in awe of it.

here is a link to it http://steampunkworkshop.com/visit-pratt-university-steam-plant

  4. Ordered a Jones Perfomance hood for my R model. I'll pick it up in Middlesex Penn on the 19th. Got the later R600 version which is an inch longer. I'll make up the spacers for the hinges and bumper to fit it up. It'll will give me space in front of the radiator to install a Vintage Aire ac condenser. Now to get a cab. Paul

  5. I average as of this week $200.00 a day on fuel for my equipment and 2 trucks 6 days a week, I drive a 25 mile loop to pay $4.25 for diesel. we have stations here selling fuel for $5.09 a gallon! My cost on oxygen and aceteline had gone up 50%. The man promised in his campaign to triple fuel costs......only effin promise he kept

  6. The longer hood and filler panels are factory Mack parts. I'm pretty sure have a pic I just have to find where it is, but I'm sure it was a 3406 Cat, he has Cat powered badges all over it. Course my kids say I'm wrong so it's possible I am..........

  7. This was at the ATHS show in Winchester Va last year, factory Cat with longer hood and filler panels between rad and fenders. Same extended nose parts as the B model Fire chassis with the Hall Scott power plants I was told. Some body on here had extra sheet metal for the nose too.
