  1. I've made offers on so many of those projects its ridiculous. A few of those had the excuse "no, that was dad's tractor that he bought from 2 states away. Hes gone now but nobody wants it. So it's just going to go for scrap." Even AFTER I made an offer with cash in hand. Still dont understand that one.
  2. It's been awhile since I purchased my single axle landscape trailer. I didnt know a permanent plate existed. Guess I'll need to line up an inspection place while I'm looking for a trailer. And no, that's not a bad price to swallow. And the inspection cant be that expensive. But given how much I'll be using the trailer may require more thought. Or maybe I'll need to go to more shows to make it worthwhile LOL! THANKS GUYS!
  3. Tossing around the idea of getting a SMALL single axle 5th wheel lowboy to pull behind my B61. I looked on the Penndot website under the antique registration form and see nothing that says the antique cannot be a trailer. Is anyone running antique plates on a, say, 1960s trailer? I would use it occasionally to haul my 1926 Chevy to a show or maybe some antique engines to a show. The truck is insured through Haggerty and they say they have ZERO problems with pulling a trailer with my antique Mack with my personal toys on it. Anyone have some insight? Thanks Frank
  4. I would still like to know where the wrecker is located. No mention of location.
  5. Brand new Sangamo speed tachograph. Still in the original box with what looks like 4 miles on the odometer reading. Doesn't come with any paperwork or discs but the clock winds and keeps time. Was thinking of putting on my B but no way to split the speedo drive cable. Asking $125 but I'm open to offers. I'm selling this to hopefully offset the cost of a set of stainless headlight rings for my B, or trade for a nice used set. I will be adding pics later today or tonight when I get home. If there are any questions just ask.
  6. I wouldn't have sold the truck for that price either. That looks like a real clean truck and trailer, and full trailer capability on the truck too. I think I have close to that price in my truck and it doesn't look that nice. 1962 B
  7. I really should have used these people. My choice of curtains in the rear window of my B really clash with the chrome dog up front. Not to mention the color of the 5th wheel....let's not go there. Google qualitative. You can decide where "dorothyda" is from.
  8. Dont make any plans to visit the Mack plant again this year. Sounds like they're not having the open house.
  9. Soft flame on a torch played around the area? I dont believe the mesh is fine enough to catch fire but should withstand the torch flame and debris flame. Then an air hose to backwash. If theres pieces of fabric or insulation then this probably shouldnt be used.
  10. Looks like the reman pump is the better way to go. Bearings themselves are close to the cost of the rebuilt pump.
  11. Same here. 3 chain auto places literally within 100 yards of each other.
  12. Anybody have part numbers for the replacement bearings and seal for the water pump. I think I have a bad pump so I want to rebuild it and rule it out. I'm getting air entrained in the antifreeze that is not overflowing the filler neck at 2000rpm. No water in the pan or oil in the water. Antifreeze stays green when settled. Thanks everyone!
  13. Why polish it? It's got beautiful patina IMO.
  14. Son of a gun! Mystery solved! Thanks JBushneck. I wasn't convinced that it was a Mack part, and now I really dont feel bad about making it into something else. I used a different bracket to attach the trailer valve but will now be modifying this bracket as it will work and look better. Thanks again JBushneck!
  15. So the creeper that I am, if you look up the sign place in billings mt, the IBEW office is next door. That looks like the parking lot the truck is in. But yes it looks like the tire is flat-ish. Probably went in to pay his union dues.
  16. And for future searchers, 1000-20 for the 20" spiders and 1000-22 for 22" spiders. I guess spiders and spokes are regional terms like soda and pop.
  17. My spokes measure 21 3/8 across. Or more specifially the inside of the open rim. The tires on it now are 22s. The rear was apparently changed to a new-er rear. The speedo is off by about 15% even with the small gearbox.
  18. But apparently that would mean changing the hubs also iffin you have spokes. Pilots may be different. D/k
  19. Thanks everybody for your knowledge. As suggested I'll be dropping the 22s and looking for 24.5 rims and tires. I have a few leads in my area. Hoping one will pan out. Frank
  20. But just to confirm, the 24.5 tires will not fit on the 22" rim?
  21. I will be needing new drive tires on the truck for next year. Old ones are cracking crossways in the tread cap. The tires that are on the truck now are 11.00-22. Im having a heck of a time finding anyone who has 22" tires and no luck finding used ones, in any condition. Is it correct that with dayton hubs that fit a 22" rim, 24.5" rims will also fit? Would I be time and money ahead just dumping the 22's and finding 24.5 dayton rims and tires? I know the 22's and 24.5's are not original to the truck, but I would still like to keep the spoke hubs, and I like the slightly added road speed. Sumitomo still makes a 11r22 tire, but from what Ive found theyre the only one. Im only guessing that I will have an even harder time in the future finding 22's. Thanks Frank
  22. Dont want to hijack the thread but can someone link me to the simple way to disassemble a B inner door? I need to change my d/s latch and fought to get everything apart the 1st time.
  23. Got to the polling station about 90 min ago. Still waiting in line. Snapped this pic when I arrived.
  24. Posting this early so you can prep your truck if you decide to participate. As we all know, November 3rd is the day to do your civic duty and exercise your voting privileges. I will be taking my Mack to the polling station, and I'm hoping others will participate also (weather permitting). Take a selfie near your truck or just a pic of your truck at the polls and post back! I'll be posting a little late as I'm working overtime this week. Let's see how many pics we can get!
