The Merritt boxes I ordered came in last week and I spent today installing them. They’re matching 5’ long boxes, with dual doors that swing to the side. That’ll give me better access for my equipment. The left one is going to be for all my deck equipment and the right one will be just for storage and carrying stuff. I was going to order 2 DEF boxes and mount them to the headache rack. But, after installing these two I have a good 36” area on the passenger side between the storage and battery boxes. I’ll order one more box for there and that will be just for truck items (oils, tools and parts.

I met with the sign painter on Wednesday evening. She took a bunch of pictures and we exchanged some ideas. She’s going to send me some mockups in a bit. She’s about 4-5 weeks out. So, it’ll be a bit before that gets done.

Mech, I do NOT want my parents phone back!!!! Hung on the wall with a crank on the side... Phone number 28Y22 which was line (12 to 15 party) 28 and our ring was 2 longs and 2 shorts!!! All calls to another line had to go thru a live operator, who knew everybodys business!!!!!

I still have just a flip phone as have not been able to learn hoe to use a smarter than me phone.

parents # was TU (xeto) 6202. only 2 or 3 party line. now put this picture in your head=== the young kids of today with rotary house phones and ALL the phone cables dangling behind their cars. or better yet them having to sit at home and use a house phone. LOL

I want my old flipper phone back!

No it did not have internet access, but at least it worked any time I made a call.

This new one I have to double check auto correct(which  can't turn off), and even after double checking it stillchanges words when I hit send.

Like in my comment to jo jo.

It was SUPPOSED to say are You Insuniating ole blue, not are toy insinuating

flip phone back !!; heck I want a real phone like my parents had ;; black with rotary dial , sat on a phone table with a phone book.  didn't know there were so many "Drs"in this state ;; everyone carries a phone . must be on 24 hr call. I spent 20 yrs on 24 hr call - did it without a cell phone. I did get modern after a while I had a beeper. then found a phone booth to return call.

  6. if my bad eye sight is correct; the dumper "opera" aka the black bitch is a short wheel-based R-700. sure would be great to see more pictures and specs on the "black bitch " always for me mind -boggling the major differences in equipment from U SA and the wonderful "land down under."

  9. a number of fleets back in 70's-?? ran the V-903. Guyott oil in CT had the long nose Brockway with 903's. one of my first trucking experiences as rider was in a Guyott oil Brockway which a neighbor drove. a Brockway having the old style cab NOT the converted Mack cab Brockway.

What a cool truck! Most people chucked the flatheads but I'm glad this one was able to be preserved. Magnadyne is such a cool name for an engine

beyond sharp looking piece of history. best of positive to it restoration.

Interesting to see a hub mounted backup bell still installed on something.....

now YOU have distinguished Yourself as a detective / mechanic. It's  the small items noticed which make a difference. to have only a $1.oo for everyone of those bells I installed.!!! major construction fleet in CT having bought (#356-376)first batch of DM686 SX dumps I had to weld a 1/2 (5/8?) fine thread nut onto center of axle cap allowing install of the backup bells. couldn't use the brackets due to deep axle cap. also welded nut center cap for hubometers.

  12. only thing missing to make it a perfect machine is the 4-1 bucket.  If we knew for sure staying on this property, the 955 would work. wife and I in limbo at the moment due to landlords divorcing .

Oh, that’s the truth. I got 19 more weeks before partial retirement. I can’t wait to have more time on my hands to accomplish all kinds of stuff and.Hi Paul lol bob

hope your semi-retirement is different then most! will be interesting after 8-10 months of retirement to up date us with " how much more time you have"  !!LOL I try to hide from the world and I'm still found. yesterday was rear wheel bearing on grandsons jeep == yea an all day freebie job; outside with crap tools and no pullers. and the three days a week of "be at the bus stop (35 minutes away) to get daughters youngster from school and -----! never mind. get back to topic.

  14. reality is the fact it's so dam sad a person (working/homeowner) has to go to the extremes of protection and the low Lifes have more rights !! while gassing up my vehicle this afternoon; a Veteran walked out of the convenience store and sat at outside table. I back my jeep up so He was able to see the back window which proudly states "NEVER FORGET OUR VETERANS AND WHAT THEY HAVE DONE FOR OUR COUNTRY/also a P O W decal. He thanked me ; next He said " and the immigrants (meaning border crossers ) get all the freebies. It sadden me to hear and realize He was right.

  15. sadly, today's world, homeowner is in more trouble when trying to protect their own property. trick is as mentioned  1-make sure not only are the scum IN your house but ;; 2- put enough shots in same spot so law enforcement can't tell if shots came from the back or front. unless of course you are using a 12 ga .my favorite.

    • Haha 1
  16. sadly it's only going to get worse with the thousands of border crossers. most having idea "we have more rights then you AMERICANS .  politicians need our votes they told us to come over  to this country.

  17. trucks looking real sharp. the alum tank definitely sets it off . it is  with out a doubt different then most. not just the model of the truck it self but the sleeper cab/ vizor/ and the one large trumpet on top just to name a few of the oddities .

Back home again after a four month slumber. After checking it over it fired right up after very little effort. I had a friend go with me to drive my car back. He said,”Damn, that thing is fast!”. I thought I was just chugging along and shifting it easy, keeping the RPM’s down while I got used to driving it again. The speedometer is a little off and I was just moving along in traffic, but he said we almost hit 80 a couple of times. It really doesn’t feel like it at all.

But, now to get a few things wrapped up on it for its first real truck show at Yankee Candle on 5/5!!

any idea of your next appearance at a show?? have been looking forward for weeks to may 5th since you wrote of having high hopes of the B 73making it debut there. due to conflicting events same day I can't make the Deerfield show.  the Knights of Columbus , to which I am a member are hosting an important gathering ;;;Darn . 52 weeks a year/ 365days a year seems everything takes place same day.
