  1. What engine and transmission did yours have bob? josh
  2. I love the look of the cruiseliner bob. That makes sense terry the truck its in has 5.73’s josh
  3. Ive never driven a 350 maybe an E6-350 would satisfy me. josh
  4. Oh yeah bob i loved that 6 speed for real local and site work. Gravel pits. When build pads and use a borrow pit on the same property. Things like that. But it needs a gear between 4 & 5 in the man box and then a decent overdrive (like eatons .73) after 5th. It screamed to do 55 on the highway and it fell on its face if it even saw a hill coming. Lol. josh
  5. Well… there lies the kicker. Lol. In far eastern Oklahoma where we are its hill after hill and winding roads so no good run at your hill. Not much flat where I live. Lol. That truck was originally a EM6-250L. Has a sister truck specs identical I believe. They said the trucks were gutless and they took them to a mack dealer in okc and had them “turned up” they came back running much better im told and mack dealer restamped the engine tag “300” this particular truck the mechanic here tells me ran better than any of the macks on the place. I believe the pump is ambac where mine is robert bosch. My truck had the 107 2 stick 6 speed and I liked it well on site and flat ground (except for no overdrive). I put a RTO-14909MLL in its place a few years ago and it definitely helped with the hills. And with the 4.17 rears the overdrive is nice on the highway. And still have deep reduction gears for site work.
  6. I’m thinking its too late to cap that one bob! Hahaha. josh
  7. And damn, 10 new tires calls for a bank loan these days. Lol. Tires like everything are expensive as heck. Lol josh
  8. Thats good to know bob thats what im looking for too honest experience. I believe for sure while i had the engine out making the swap id send the pump to the pump shop and have it gone through and set max. And i have a new turbo for an E6-350 that id use. Might help it. But all that is second choice as im actively hunting a deal on a mechanical or vmac E7 as my first choice for a new engine josh
  9. Terry does the 2080 just drive like a straight 5 speed on road and then has some deep reduction for slow slow off road? I have a Eaton 9LL so I understand deep reduction josh
  10. Ill PM him if no one responds after a while bob i hate to bother him if he’s busy and im not really in a rush. josh
  11. Being a factory built mixer truck I can’t imagine it having anything less than 44’s but I don’t know how to tell. I can post some pictures of the rears and tbe tag on the axle housing. I posted them in the suspension section but haven’t gotten alot of responses yet josh
  12. No apologies necessary at all. I don’t mind at all. Lol. And tbank you for that information. I do somewhat understand the model number meanings but not great. My truck was originally a R685ST. I know that meant a endt675 or 237. Tandem drive. Someone before me basically made it a R686ST as when I bought it there was a EM6-285 tip turbine under the hood. now the RD690S im looking at is a 1988 or 89 and was a dolese brothers mixer truck since new. It has two hydraulic drop axles in front of the drivers and a fold up drag axle behind. It has im sure a 18k or 20k steer. Has 385-65 float tires on front. josh
  13. My old r has 38k camelbacks and they have a broken leaf on one side so I was wondering about the suspension in the parts truck as well. I wouldn’t mind a stouter rear suspension than the 38’s they seem a bit light Josh
  14. Yeah I understand the parts thing bob that’s why I’m so interested in this parts truck. Where I live theres no old macks around and zero older Macks in the only salvage close. I bought that hood from a place up north and paid as much freight as I paid for the hood. So i get it. This parts truck has a 300 4 valve. I’ve never driven it. I only have experience in tbe 2 valve engines josh
  15. Could you find another hood? I bought a hood for mine at a salvage several years back when i blew a driver side steer tire and tore the hood all to pieces. There weren’t no saving my hood. Lol. Josh
  16. Oh no worries bob its all good. Talking trucks is talking trucks as far as i care. Lol. Im curious about the rear suspension as much as anything because its not camelback its just a walking beam with no springs. The engine finally died in my R so i was offered this old 690 as a complete parts truck because it has a compatible engine. EM6 4 valve. Kinda think its a T2080 transmission but not positive. So i was hoping to clear up wjat transmission and rears id be getting as well. Having said that he has not ever given me a price for the truck. He’s thinking about it. But he offered it I didn’t ask. what transmission are you going to be putting in yours bob? You said your transmission is bad? josh
  17. Thats where I would have started too im the same way. Keep pushing. You’ll get there. Hope the weather is nice for week off. josh
  18. Thanks bob. You work on your old dog any this weekend?
  19. Can anyone tell me what the original specs of this truck would be? Thank you
  20. Ahhh. Learned something today then i did not know that. Thank you sir. josh
  21. I gotcha terry. I probably won’t have use for the transmission personally. I’m curious about what weight rating the rears are and if they have differential locks or if lockers can be added. The rears look a whole lot bigger than my 38 camelbacks. A lot. Lol. josh
