  1. Local dealer says too much dielectric grease was used....code for we don't know but we're going to still charge you a lot
  2. I have a13 GU713 with a mp7. I am the 4th person to get this gem. Occasionally (from what I'm told) the def gauge will go to 0 then pop back up to accurate reading. This of course sets codes, wants to derate ect. The last mechanic said he could get it to do it by wiggling the wiring at the ACM. I have tried everyway possible and nothing. I've had every connector apart in the loop and all connections are good. I've tested the data link codes through PTT and everything checks ok. I have pinned out pretty much everything. The def level sensor has been replaced twice. The ecm and acm where supposedly updated in January. The data link code spn 1231 fmi 9 has happened 127 times... fmi 2 13 times. I also have a turbo boost code spn 1127 that showed active but no cel until my last test drive. Also shows spn3226 fmi13 nox as active. that sensor has been replaced at least twice. Also replaced turbo boost sensor in the intake. also codes for def tank temp occurring 30+ times inactive code. I've checked term resistors at data link-good. Checked grounds physically and through ptt. checked power from batt box. Am I looking at an ACM replacement? or other ideas? Thanks!! O.J. Avery
  3. Thanks for the input....lol. So it had an active code for the lr axle, and an inactive code for right rear. So i ohmed the lr...open...ohmed right rear ...open.So I replaced left rear, cleared codes. right rear popped up as active. drove it, works good. Now I'm replacing the right rear. Turns out the vecu freaks when it sees no wheel rear speed at all but front only.
  4. I have a 08 gu713 dump. MP7 engine, Mack 10 speed trans. The speedo stops working after 5mph. Then once you're over 5mph the rpms are limited to 1500. The speedo sensor at the trans is new. I have an active code for an abs sensor (left axle 2). Will that active code mess with the speedo??
  5. I'm a state worker (NYSDOT).... I get paid by the year lol
  6. Funny story... (NOT!!!) after replacing fuel filter head twice, replacing every fuel line, bypassing the heater, I come to find out someone at another location started the job, decided it was too much for their field location, slapped it back together and guess ...what it wouldn't run. They don't care its getting shipped off, not their problem anymore. I had no idea someone was already there. 2 lines got switched. I spent 66 hours on this ....SMH
  7. Replaced mechanical pump, nothing. Put another filter head on it nothing. Replaced the line from the filter head to the back of the head (feed line) nothing. Filled the tank to the very top to check pickup, nothing. I'm going to do the feed and return from the tank now. The feed goes to a heater that's located in the frame rail by the trans.
  8. Got it to barely run at about 22# of air to the tank. I haven't ever seen a mechanical pump go bad.
  9. yeah, 300 pumps nothing. So i put some psi to the tank (20#) and it'll almost catch. I crack the return line at the front of the head and there's plenty of fuel there. But still no resistance at the primer.
  10. yeah its got a primer, i dont know if ive gone 200 pumps but i feel like ive had to be close to that. Do you feel no prime at all for the first 190 pumps?
  11. Hi all. I have an issue with a 12 mp7 10 emissions. Its a NYS DOT truck which is in a lot of salt. The fuel filter housing had rotted away and the cooler ends were barely there. I replaced most of the lines going to the filter head. I can not get it to prime!! I took the feed hose from the tank off, blew it out both ways, still can't get it to prime. What gives
  12. Thanks JoeH, I believe we have the correct rod here in the shop and I've googled techniques, so I'll take a swing at it later today. I was hoping it has been an issue for others and there was a solution to the problem. this isn't the first one I've encountered

the harness is all one piece. a little seepage out of that hole isn't a big concern. If you wanted to replace the o ring you'd have to remove the valve cover and unplug the injectors and engine brake. If you do go down that road be very careful with the injector connection, the wires get brittle.
  14. Anyone run into this?? This is a abs sensor mount for a rear axle. Truck is an 11 gu713. It rotted off from salt exposure. Is there a repair kit? or do I just go talk to the guy who has done "some" cast welding
  15. Turckster, I have watched techs here do the same thing. They've done one set and don't think they need to look at procedures any more. I just did a set that was 18 months old, maybe 15,000 miles. Had air in fuel bad and leak down/no start over night.
  16. Update....problem came back. Contacted someone higher up in Mack and had the telematics turned off for this truck.
  17. I always replace the cups with injectors, I don't like doing the job twice
  18. Hey! I was wondering how common a problem is injector leak down causing no start over night on a MP7? I've had it happen 2 times now and the first time I understand. It had OE injectors, ran really good n o codes. Cylinder balance was off a good amount (I don't recall how much) . I replaced the fuel filter head....which did have a sticking check valve. Same problem. We replace a lot of injectors here because of how the equipment is used. So I did the injectors in that one, problem solved. This one I just did is a MP7 also. It had injectors 18 months ago (conical). No start overnight, have to prime it to start it. Cylinder balance was off especially for recent injectors. The difference on the cylinder balance between 5 & 6 was 50. It also showed air in fuel. We went over all fuel lines and connections and all looked good. I finished the injectors and ran it. Shut it off at 2 yesterday and it fired no problem just now.
  19. I have run into this twice recently and both times it was a bad injector. One is sticking open I believe therefore leaking down quickly. Both of the trucks I did, both ran great no drivability issues and no air bubbles indicating cups. There were no injector codes . Cylinder balance test will show it being off some but not really enough to condemn it on that alone.
  20. it is a code for the sim card in the telematics module. The state installed their own gps devices through Verizon. Turns out they weren't playing together nicely. disconnected gps. so far ok. Thanks
  21. I have an odd one I've never seen before. B100409... sim card bad? thoughts??
  22. Having no luck on replacement procedure for the ps1 switch. Winging it
  23. yes, unit has had oil and filters changed. Was in here in June for same code. Looked a little deeper and its a pressure switch. I actually found a ohm value for it when I googled it so I'm going to drop the pan and see what I see.
  24. I'm having trouble locating in the parts manual which solenoid this is. Allison 4500. 13 Mack GU I don't have the breakouts I need to really diagnose it, boss wants to see if just replacing the solenoid will save a trip to the Allison dealer. Thanks!!
  25. previously worked on at a different location, no access to their laptop
