  1. Here is one of the videos she did for BigMackTrucks.com... it is brief, but she was emotional! She's so funny!
  2. Thank you Fred and Nessa! It is so awesome to be able to give something back to such a wonderful grandmother. To watch her get to drive her dads old Mack truck was amazing...and it had the whole family in tears. How an old piece of iron has such meaning. No matter what the restoration costs, or how many busted knuckles, sweat, and tears...it was all worth it. One entire box of tissues! Thank you! Hug accepted! I am trying to load the videos now! I will post the links soon! Tracy
  3. We hauled it because it takes 6 hours to get there. We drove it the last ten miles to grandma's house, and oh did she love it! She has a message for everyone on BigMackTrucks.com, and I will be posting her video soon! What a day....an awesome day to see my grandmother just "stunned" and emotional... she cried when she got to see the old truck roll into the yard.... Awesome day Pictures coming soon!
  4. Oil pump failure? Take the oil pump apart and check the relief and regulator valves... Oil gets in through the crank shaft through the main bearings...hmm...clean cure failure.. assembly debris lodged into the bearing... machining material from new block...? Ms Tracy D
  5. It will have the original bumper put back on it, which it was painted green with the number 9 on each corner.. I'm hand painting those! It needed some major welding and reshaping, not quite finished with it. I have aluminum wheels now for it.. a touch of modernization! And the bed is being put on in the next couple of weeks.. she will be ready by the waubun parade on July 7th!
  6. Do you have any more pictures of this? Tracy
  7. Ha! Bring Jack Daniels and Coke...drink of choice it is! I will check out your AC Crane carrier! Tracy
  8. Update... with a hands-down vote, old Gus#9 will be making her way to see my grandma this weekend. She has no idea we are coming! We will also bring it back for the parade in July. The American flag will go on her bed early Saturday morning and off we will go! Roberts mom was able to find her a matching green scarf to wear for her first road trip! We will be recording it for everyone to see! Stay tuned! We are a little nervous! Ms Tracy D
  9. You are funny 😂 Mike...As a matter of fact I need to drop a few pounds to fit comfortably in that tiny little cab with a passenger... how on earth did two crewmen ride in those things all day long? It rides like an old log wagon! I was going to be ambitious and drive her out to Mn but I think the trailer and an old diesel truck is calling her name! Keep the good humor Mike
  10. Ya, they tend to have long lists! I went to paint and body school so over the years I've painted for Toyota and a few body shops.. my specialty is welding and painting. I'm getting back into the business and putting in a paint booth because there is a ton of work flowing in... and I'm a woman ha! My goal is to make the painting cheaper for people on a restoration budget and still give them a high quality paint job.. I have a case tractor to do next, a 46 Chevy dump truck, a 49 Chevy 1/2 ton and a 53 Chevy truck in line already.. my poor old Twin City tractor has to take a back seat for a while! I love this business because the final outcome is worth every penny! Let me know if I can help in any way! Tracy
  11. Ha! Mike! Thanks..we are pretty proud of it! What type of finishing does your old Mack need? Maybe I could help! Oh we are finishing the bumper and it was originally green... I think it will stay green. Tracy
  12. Old Gus #9 has been completed and 26 miles on her already. People wave, give thumbs up when she goes rolling by... oh how my great grandpa and my grandfather would have been proud! We took it to church on Sunday and had over 30 visitors out to see old Gus.... and a photographer in his 70s who just had to have a few pics of the old girl. There's nothing better than bringing a community together to watch an old rusted truck come back to life... I couldn't be more proud of it. Grandma gets to see it in 32 days... What an accomplishment in my life I have to say, and I'm extremely thankful for NAPA of Garrison ND, and the Huettl family... bust most of all I'm thankful for the best man in my life besides my grandpas.. Robert.. without him this wouldn't be possible. We have to replace a pinion seal, and can now put the battery box cover back on.. and building the bed for it this weekend... My next project is the restoration of an old Case tractor for a Vietnam vet in town.. free.. he served our country.. wounded and just wants a nice tractor to show off... I will be posting the video of my grandmas reaction on July 8th! I'm scared to haul it five hours and hope all goes well! Ms Tracy D

First trip today to put Diesel in it! Runs like a champ!
  14. The engine came out of a sand conveyor in the oil fields, a little 4B Cummins, the transmission is an Allison MT545 and came out of a blue bird school bus and the aftercooler is for a tuner car brand new. She runs like a champ! The tires are 11R 22-5 off of the bus and fit good with limited clearance but they don't rub... it still has the original drive shaft with 2 inch spacers on each end of the drive shaft, and factory rear end which rolls smooth. Robert made the radiator supports, engine mounts and spacers... along with the custom made charge air cooler pipes, brackets, and wiring harness... we have received a ton of compliments on the old truck...pretty proud of it! Tracy

She's a far cry from the day we brought old Gus out of the woods!
  16. Thanks! We had to do a lot of engineering and designing in order to not modify the chassis so we can put the original flat head EN330 back in it some day.. I kinda like the sound of the diesel though! Tracy
