  1. I moved this topic to the Fire Truck Forum so the Fire Truck guys will see it...they will have a good idea of what it takes to restore a fire truck especially if you are going to keep it as a pumper...
  2. Looks like you have a model: DM492S there! It should have an Allison MT643 Tranny...I can't look up parts for the Allisons, but you should be able to call any Allison dealer for the back up switch.
  3. I think a 673 would have enough balls to run 65-70. but it all depends on the running gears...I would go with a 237 re-power though, just because parts are getting harder to find for the 673's...just my 2 cents worth...
  4. Matt, did you remember to change the motor mounts before you installed that V8? LOL Looking good! Can't wait to see the finished product!
  5. Lookin good! You'll have her ready to roll in no time!
  6. We have sold some 4" cat back side pipe conversions for the Ford 7.3 Powerstrokes...I gotta say that they sound very simular to the Mack V8!

  13. Don't be afraid to post about other make of trucks...this forum is designed to help antique truck fans no matter what make they are working on. Mack is just the common thread that brought you all here!
  14. One day at the Pearly Gates, 2 truckers show up to get into Heaven. One is driving a Peterbuilt and the other has an old Mack Truck. St. Peter talks to the Mack driver first and says that he doesn't like Peterbuilts, so he offers to let the Mack driver into Heaven if he can get the Peterbuilt driver to turn around. So the Mack driver thinks for a minute and accepts St. Peter's challenge. After a few minutes, the Peterbuilt driver fires up his rig and pulls off onto the exit to Hell. St. Pete says, "Wow, that was fast...what did you say to him?" The Mack driver repled, "I told him there was a DOT check on the other side of the Pearly Gates and he said he'd rather go to Hell then go through another one of those in that Peterbuilt!"

  21. It is a problem with FireFox...I tested it on FireFox and saw the same thing. I currently don't have a fix for it, but everything works fine on IE and Netscape. I don't believe that there are any other issues on FireFox...just the missing nav links. BTW...Welcome to BMT...Glad to have ya aboard!

  25. Do you have 1 large oil filter or 2 spin ons? If you have 2 spin on oil filters, here is what you need: 2-485GB3191C Oil Filter 1-25MF435B Coolant Filter 1-483GB444 Primary Fuel Filt 1-483GB441 Secondary Fuel Filt I think the oil capacities are 32 qts for the shallow pan and 56 qts with the deep pan. Don't quote me on that though!
