Blocks under a front leaf are a hugely dangerous idea. If it is unsafe in a small 4x4 trucks suspension there is no way it is a good idea on a semi.

I would say to raise it the best/safest way is taller/thicker springs . That way it gets your frame and everything else up higher as well for more ground clearance.

I've managed to keep to a simple rule, If I can't get every vehicle, trailer, and equipment I own in the barn/ garage out of the weather something has to go.

yep, not sure spring or hydraulic but nice one handed tilting.

Neither handle would work inside or outside and it was only closed maybe 2 minutes after I opened it to climb in and turned it around.
