  1. That's some good news then as I was expecting buku bucks for parts. Is it very labor intensive or just pop off the rocker covers and pick apart some parts? I'm a big fan of the jake brake too. Makes for a much nicer to handle and drive truck, not having to use the brake pedal near as much.

look on your valve covers they may tell you a different ajdustment than the book does go by the valve cover it is for your engine

  2. Well...keep in mind I'm no mechanic. I'd make a good parts changer but no doctor. If the 'stealth brake' is what I think it is, my truck has one. A doo-dad about a foot back from the turbo with what looks to be a shock absorber hooked to it. If that's all it has for engine braking then I guess I have to deal with it..? Or is that in addition to a regular jake brake? I suppose I should make sure of what I have before firing questions.

YES THE STEALTH IS ON THERE WITH THE JAKE IF YOU TAKE IT OFF YOU WILL KNOW THE DIFFERENCE I HAVE NEVER HAD TO DO ANY THING TO IT AT A MILLION 2HUNDRED THOU THOUSAND

  3. Hello, I am new to this forum and like what I see so far. I am hoping there is a Mack guru out there that can answer my questions. I have been trying to figure out when the frame width changes on the Mack CH and CX models and what years they took place. Also why is there a CX, CXN, CXP and CXU? What are the differences?

i think but im not real sure but cxn is the start of the volvo frame (junk) that is the start of the down hill slide

  4. Does your truck have a stealth break in the exhaust pipe under the cab some did some didnt you should here it it sounds like somthing sucking shut you should have turbo pressure also unplug your jake one head at a time see if it mackes a difference that might tell you what head the problem is if any could be a broke spring or a seliond

  5. Hello.

I am new to the forum and am looking for some info/advice. I am on the hunt for a dump truck and am looking at a couple Macks. One is a 1993 with a 500 hp V8 and the other is a 1996 with a 400 hp E7. The 93 has 550,000 km and the 96 has 350,000 km. where can I find technical info on these two power plants. I have located general info on the Mack site for the E7 but cannot find anything on the V8. I will be pulling a dump trailer (not a pup) with my purchase so am looking for some help on making a choice. Any info on what to watch for as far as inherant problems with a Mack would be helpful as well.

    Thanks from the new guy

the e7 400 is one of the best engines ever built the e9 is also a very good engine we run them every day and have little trouble

  6. I had the same problem mine was rusted out bad above the rear window, I took the back part off with a small grinder, cleaned the metal up good than used auto body filler and repainted, it looks pretty good. Make sure you prime the metal good I used that xo rust stoper before I filled with the body filler.

I THINK YOU CAN STILL GET DRIP RAIL FOR A RD IT IS THE SAME AS A R MODEL

  7. My brother and I are repainting a 1999 CH613 and we would like to freshen up the door jamb paint. Is the door jamb paint the same paint that you would use on the dash? If it is then can't you buy it in spray cans from Mack?

    Thanks,

    Scott

yes it can be bought from mack or it could be the part number is 312sx132 you will proubly have to buy a case
