  1. if your showing up  with a  stock AI 460   and expecting it to pull with a pre emmision C15 475 which is actually 490hp  your in for a shocker.  the programing in the AI  series sucks   and it was made gutless to pass emmisions.   Yeah  He would be needing to pass 04 emmisions which should not be a problem.

  2. If you show up with a motor thats 2 Liters smaller with a 130hp and  150-200lbs less torque and it pulls as good as  the c12 its  done its job.  I've seen some 300 pull very well and others not so much.  It'll come down to  rear gearing and  the fuel screw as to how well it performs

It was biodiesel from a subsidized crop. Can't remember if it canola or camomile, but it's pressed here in he county at he subsidized plant.

thats interesting  I have seen fuel pumps and injectors fail prematurely due to high moisture in  bio that was stored over winter.   It doesn't have a long shelf life at 99%.  It a shame were not running close to a  b50 blend in the summer months  and a 10 to 20 in the winter

Just about any diesel engine will run fine on veggy oil biofuel if it's refined good. At least the old ones will, I don't know about the newer ones.

I know a guy that experimented with refining animal fats in a Dodge Cummins with bad results.

Just about any of these biofuels aren't viable without heavy government subsidies. They are getting better but they aren't there yet.

animal fats is what has given everyone  a  bad experiance with bio fuel   its fine in summer but once it gets be low 50f bad things happen.  the fuel that was made from beans, rape , or corn is just as good  or better than ULSD

  5. yes you can  control the gears manually  also there is a performance button  when you use it trans goes through every gear  and shifts at 1600 1700 rpms    if you dont use it   it skips gears takes off in like 4th  and shifts at 1400 or so   the 13 or 14spd m drive sounds appealing for lowboy use.   and  there is  some people on here  that have no clue what flat ground looks like.   Titans are nice but over priced and overkill for alot applications   its to heavy to make a road tractor out of  you only see them under lowboys or log trucks and I don't think  they are interested in  lighting it up the vt800 series volvos was a disaster

In a low-boy tractor application, you would want the just introduced heavy duty 13-speed mDrive  (a rebadged Volvo I-Shift AMT with crawler gears). The weak link is, it's a single countershaft design, AND it's designed so that you can't work on it.....literally (you have to do remans).

    * Old hands, note that Volvo's Mack brand mDrive HD sales brochure doesn't list any gear ratios!

AND, regarding the legacy Maxitorque transmissions from the former Mack Trucks, Volvo doesn't even offer a brochure anymore (http://www.macktrucks.com/powertrain-and-suspensions/transmissions/maxitorque/). Just a brief mention......no picture much less a promotional video. Truth be told, with the introduction of the vocational I-Shift, Volvo can't wait to phase out the Maxitorque transmissions.

the only way you get  the m drive with the extra low holes it to buy a granite  is not available in a pinnacle  at least that is what my local  dealer told me.      he had a mdrive on the yard od modle set up on 22.5 tall and 3.55 gears   the trans  is super smooth   both starting off and going through the gears  love how it was geared for the road BUT  it does not have no where the reduction I am use to   13spd and 3.70 rears  so off road  pulling in wet feilds or heavy I am not sold on there 12spd  especially when it  cost more than a mack 13/18spd

This would be good time to buy 1 if going to; truck paper full of the chu's; bruckner's has a lot of them; 249 wb 505 with either 18sp or Mdrive; 14,600 front 44 rears; 15-17 models discounted as per ad

yes  new trucks are stacking up I looked at a brand new 2012 chu.  One would think there would be a sweet lease deal  I can lease a 170k farm tractor for $9500 a year  but they want almost $25k a year to lease a $125k semi   doesn't make sense to me

Because now all those miners and truckers and tug boat men and their families and all the support industries (truck & equipment repair, restaurants, suppliers etc. etc.) have lost their income and take welfare DUMB ASS it's all part of the socialist agenda... a government that provides for you also controls you. I have some respect for Bernie Sanders at least he is honest about what he is. Obama has been lying to us for eight years about his socialist agenda. Millions of Americans out of work on the government take, all while we have at least 200 years of coal reserves in the ground.

God forbid we should use dirty, polluting coal that MIGHT cause a few premature deaths, but it's OK for the tree hugger windmills to kill 4,200 eagles a year.

elec. companies  are looking at producing power for centuries to come not today next month or year  you can blame epa a president all you want   when  bean counters see away of producing something cheaper much cheaper down the line and  eliminate the middle men they do it.  the irony is the same crowd that was yelling drill baby drill is getting put out of work by all the drilling

VW misrepresented the cars at the time of purchase (fraud).

Every car owner has the right to expect a full refund, the original purchase price.

The Honda Accord hybrid has as much useable space as your Sportswagon and gets 50mpg, starting at $30,000

have you ever tried getting 50mpg out of  a hybrid  cause out in rural America the only way it will is if you haul or pull it half the time

  10. there is a $5,000.00  per car   emmision trust fund per car  that the owner gets no matter what on top of the grand we already have  then VW must fix or buy back  the car   it should work out for the car owner if they hand them back  problem is where do you find a car with as much room as a passat  gets 46mpg  driving it hard  that lists for 30k or less    bmw  is the only one that comes close  put you gotta shell out the dough

My mp10 has a primer. 200 pumps to get to the injectors.

The later model case tractors with the iveco engine have been using that turbo hooked to the timing gears for years. It's just on a overrunning clutch and they claimed it adds 3% efficiency.

I think the new Detroit has the same type turbo also
