That is interesting about using Mack fuel filters. I have a 2000 Vision with an E7 460. Does the Mack fuel filter apply to this engine also?
Thanks
I run baldwins on my 01 427 with no issues it makes 95 or 100psi of fuel pressure. I wonder who makes Mack Filters anyway

Bts, I wondered about those natural gas trucks! The conversions lacked about 15 to 20 percent of the hp and torque of a gasoline engine! Are UPSs engines purpose built? You'd have to think so!
Nope not purpose built, just 12L Cummins-Westport motors. Fairly common around me I think they are rated for 425 450hp 1450lb torque. Frito Lay uses them as does JB Hunt on the Budweiser run.

drivers all tell me no torque with the nat.gas spark plug and burning holes in pistons is a problem. MP8 leaps and bounds better performance wise

39ft frameless has replace alot of the hopper bottoms in my area east genesis with 60" sides pretty common and with alum draft arms and plate they are very light trailer. you still have trouble loading up to 80k with dry rice though without alot of shovel work some opt for 68" sides. but I doubt you know what rice is in OH.

eaton rears and eaton 13spd still work today if that's what you want don't think you'll want a mp7 with 3.36 gears though
-
a .71 od with 2.64 gears guess you riding around in 16 and 15th gear alot
-
mpg is going to depend on what you pull with it. why the E file if your not doing a SE why not a C or Cplus doubt it be much mpg diffrenence
-
plastic return line that returns from the head back to the return line its about 2ft long and will cause this its pretty common

Fitzgerald is going to be tied up building those hydrogen hybrid trucks for Ryder. You really think they will roll back this 300 unit cap on gliders. Who do you think sent more money to Washington, the truck manufacturers or the glider shops?
-
around me they push all mack. corp seems real hung up on M rides on granites, it was the best part of a VHD and easy to work on but camleback it is not

Alot of the problem now is epa fuel mileage standards coming into play Soon. I also think the old Peterbilt an kw cabs are on their way out . unless trump throws these new regulations out its gonna be difficult to make a old school looking truck . mack currently offers chu rawhide and Titan that are nice looking trucks but you can't satisfy everyone .
as much R&D that truck and engine manf. have put into meeting 2017 regs it would be a real kick in the pants and step backwards if that would happen. Fuel milleage regs. avg. the whole production that's how classics have made it this far and will continue on you will be paying extra due to a fuel guzzler tax like on a muscle car. But it is the final nail in Glider Kits coffin

mack had issues with plastic radiators long before even the 04 emmisions just ask any Vision Owner
-
why didn't you spec mack manual trans. mack rears camelback or mack air ride I know its hendrickson the new air ride does suck. and RD frame rail if thats what you wanted? you can still order all mack power train but the days of e9s have been gone over a decade here and they ain't coming back.
-
could be something in the tank also or a bad rubber line
-
560k truck I wouldn't be scared to put it on a run.
-
about as good as any motor with a egr and vgt turbo it'll be better than a 2004 for sure but turbos was a problem and egr can stop up or crack
-
a 460p of that year would be 480hp highest hp available from the factory its not mechanical at all has egr and a vgt turbo
-
bellhousing swap and drive shaft work, why swap in the Mack trans?
-
dual vgt sound sweet but they sure are expensive to replace AGCO has been going down this road with there SISU motors the v12 twin turbo in the mt800 series is a beast
