  1. I can tell you first hand, the Autocar is an extremely well engineered truck. I've been all over it. The Autocar is the truck that I would buy.
  2. In short, yes. We could speak on this for hours.

  4. This is not a pandemic, this is not a financial crisis, this is something that we have created. The United States post World War Two was a global stabilizer, now we are the global destabilizer. And that's a very hard thing to say because I pride ourselves of bringing the leadership and bringing the conversations. Long term I'm less worried about some of these issues but in the short run I'm petrified about some of these issues. .
  5. “Yesterday’s pause doesn’t mean tariffs are no longer driving the economic narrative. Today’s cooler-than-expected inflation should be taken as old news, with tariffs expected to send inflation rocketing higher in the next couple of months. The Fed remains in a tough spot, caught between a trade war causing tight financial conditions and weight on the economy as inflation takes off.” Ellen Zentner – Morgan Stanley’s chief economic strategist --------------------------------------------------------------------- “I take no solace in the president’s announcement to delay the reciprocal tariffs for 90 days. I still see a recession as a likely outcome.” Mark Zandi - Moody’s chief economist
  6. Pharmaceutical company Novartis announced plans to build 7 facilities in the U.S. and expand others in a $23 billion investment over five years on the heels of President Trump’s announcement of forthcoming tariffs on imported drugs. “This commitment enables Novartis to expand on its current manufacturing, research and technology presence across the country with 10 facilities, including 7 brand new facilities, creating nearly 1,000 new jobs at Novartis and approximately 4,000 additional US jobs.” 6 of the facilities will be manufacturing plants, 2 of which will focus on radioligand therapy in Florida and Texas. It's unknown where the other 4 plants will be built. Moreover, Novartis is establishing a biomedical research innovation center in San Diego as part of the investment, and expanding 3 of its production facilities in Indiana, New Jersey, and California. Novartis said its goal is to ensure “all key Novartis medicines for US patients will be made in the United States.”
  7. An initial DOGE survey of unemployment insurance claims since 2020 has found: 1. 24,500 people over 115 years old claimed $59 million in benefits. 2. 28,000 people under the age of five claimed $254 million in benefits. 3. 9,700 people with birth dates over 15 years in the future claimed $69 million in benefits. In one case, DOGE found someone with a birthday in 2154 who claimed $41,000 in benefits. “Your tax dollars were going to pay fraudulent unemployment claims for fake people born in the future. This is so crazy that I had to read it several times before it sank in,” says Elon Musk.
  8. “Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the world’s markets, I am hereby raising the tariff charged to China by the United States to 125%, effective immediately. At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S. and other countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable. Conversely, and based on the fact that more than 75 countries have called representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subjects being discussed relative to Trade, Trade Barriers, Tariffs, Currency Manipulation, and Non-Monetary Tariffs, and that these countries have not retaliated in any way against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day pause, and a substantially lowered reciprocal tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately.” President Trump * Sectoral tariffs, such as those on vehicles, still apply.

  10. China has hiked their retaliatory levies on U.S. imports to 84%, matching the administrations added 34% + 50% levies.
  11. “the most important part of this decision…it was clear from the context…the court’s opinion is that Boasberg went out of his jurisdiction. His jurisdiction should have been confined to a district, he’s a district judge, this case should have been brought in Texas. Instead, it was brought in D.C. … to judge-shop…this is the beginning of the court pushing back on the idea that these district judges can overwhelm the executive branch and have, essentially, a veto over President Trump’s executive actions.” Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow
  12. A new Swedish icon oddly with an American name. .
  13. “Whose throat do I get to choke if this proves to be wrong? It just seems like we’ve decided to begin a trade war on all fronts, and that’s OK, if the person who thought this through has an answer for why you go after partners that we have a very long storied relationship with. I wish you well, but I am skeptical.” Senator Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) .
  14. Migrants who were temporarily allowed to live in the United States by using a Biden-era online appointment app have been told to leave the country “immediately.” Over 900,000 migrants were allowed into the U.S. using the CBP One app since January 2023. They were allowed to remain in the U.S. for 2 years with authorization to work under a presidential authority called parole. DHS says canceling these paroles is a promise kept to the American people to secure our borders and protect national security. Termination notices have been sent to CBP One beneficiaries. They were instructed to voluntary self-deport using the same app they entered on, which has been renamed CBP Home. “It’s time for you to abandon the United States,” says DHS. If they don’t, they will face the consequences. This includes a fine of $998 per day for every day that the illegal alien overstayed their final deportation order.
  15. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent went so far as to fly to Florida last Sunday to encourage President Trump to focus his message on negotiating favorable trade deals, or risk the stock market cratering further. In Florida, Bessent told the President that markets would remain in peril unless he started putting more emphasis on talking about his endgame with tariffs, winning deals with other countries. Bessent’s view is, the markets will keep melting unless you shift. You’re not going to abandon the policy, but you have to talk about negotiating and what the endgame is. The Sunday meeting was an opportunity to figure out the next steps after 50 countries reached out to open discussions on the U.S.'s new tariff regime. The purpose of Trump’s April 2 tariff rollout was to create “maximum leverage” over foreign governments. Bessent is perhaps the most powerful voice urging Trump to telegraph to anxious Americans that there is an end in sight. Bessent is also the first known adviser to try to urge the president to alter his rhetoric on trade, albeit privately and gently. And even as the Treasury secretary has confined his advice to messaging, it appears to be moving Trump to allow more room publicly for negotiations, including the possibility of cutting back on some of the aggressive international trade barriers he announced last week. The Treasury secretary, who has been a public and vocal defender of the president’s new tariff regime, suggested that Trump put more emphasis on how the policy would result in a better deal for America and more jobs in the U.S. The administration’s contradictory rhetoric has been a hallmark of the early days of the trade war. On Monday, Bessent announced the U.S. was opening negotiations with Japan over tariffs at the same time Peter Navarro published an op-ed in the Financial Times saying there would be “no negotiations”. And even as the White House moves forward on negotiations with Japan, Trump is ramping up a trade war with China, threatening to impose 104% levies on Beijing, a move that on its own is likely to stoke significant market fear. But Bessent’s advice appears to have encouraged Trump to tamp down his most absolutist statements and at least open the door for negotiations with some countries.
  16. The Supreme Court, in an unsigned 5 - 4 ruling, has ruled that the Trump administration CAN invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport Venezuelan gang members. However, the ruling states the gang members must get a court hearing, in Texas, before they are removed from the United States. Why, given they surely entered illegally anyway? Trump appointee Amy Coney Barrett dissented alongside the court's three Democratic appointees. Deportations were halted on March 15 when Obama-appointed US District Court Judge James Boasberg issues an injunction blocking deportations. That injunction has now been lifted under the Supreme Court's ruling, allowing the president to once again deport gang members.
