  1. I might do that. It will have to be moved from where it is now as it is in the way of another project. There is a slim possibility that I will travel east this summer to clean up my brother's estate. If so, I will announce it in this thread. I will travel non-toll roads, so I-80 to Quad Cities, I-74 to Indy, I-70 to PA, I-79 to I-68 to I-70 into Balt, then I-95 N to DE. Interested parties need to have a way to get it off the trailer - cherry picker, skid steer, fork lift ...
  2. I talked to Inland Truck Parts, they have no use for it. Not another trans shop within 600 miles and Macks aren't real popular in the Rockys
  3. I don't know what scrap weight on this is, but I'm gonna find out next scrap run I do. Need a taker or off it goes
  4. Enuff pix of the truck, where are the pix of "stacks"??
  5. Unfortunately I still have this. Gotta clean up the yard. Make an offer. I trade too!! Guns, Post hole digger for a skid steer, 24.5 hub pilot rims, Flat bed for a dually Ford, ... ??
  6. I still have this and don't want to scrap it out just yet. I get it that transportation is the issue. If interested, let me know, sometimes a transportation issue will present a solution.
  7. I've had it for 10 years or so. I do need to change the diff oil. Guessing synthetic is ok in these top loaders
  8. I'm in the high desert of Wyoming. I'm not saying mold can't grow here, just unlikely. I treat my bulk fuel with biobor to prevent algae, when I buy it at the pump I don't use any additives.
  9. I wanted to wrap this up. Turns out there was about an inch of nasty sludge and peeling tank liner inside my passenger tank (the one that the engine sucks from). I pulled the 2 drain holes and flushed with 10 gal of diesel. I realized that this was gonna get expensive and switch to the pressure washer. After 2 thorough washes at 2200 psi, I let the tank dry for 2 days then added diesel. For the last 2 weeks it has been running great! Pulls 29lb of boost, doesn't spitter when under a load, starts up every time. I have the driver's side tank shut off and suspect that there is an inch of crud in that one too. Maybe Sunday I will start the draining and pressure washing routine on that tank. I don't think this was from a 1 time fill up, just built up over the years.
  10. 40 miles N of Cody WY, 3 miles S of MT line
  11. I finally got the loader, excavator and dozer running good all at the same time - and the dump truck is holding up the new driveway. Last pic is the new driveway I'm cutting in.
  12. Got the load dumped by driving 200' at a time. After a longer cool down and it being empty, I would get 400' before it slowing dies. A buddy pulled me with my F-350 in the low range 3.5 miles to my driveway. Twice I started it to help him up the steep part of hills. My driveway is a steep grade (26%) and starts at the bottom of another hill. I started the truck, quickly rolled down the hill, turned into my drive faster than normal and made it 1/4 of the way up it. Went and got the D5 (the Ford wasn't gonna pull it up my drive) and started pulling on it. 3/4 of the way up it gets real steep and I started the Mack to help out. Went up, turned it around, parked it in a spot that is easy to work on and let it run (it hadn't quit). It idles for 45 minutes then I shut it off. I am now convinced that there is something in the fuel tank that is getting sucked into the up pipe. The combination of a steep angle and bouncing around while turning into the driveway loosened it up and got it out of the way - until next time. Winter is back today with 3"-6" in the forecast (I SUPPORT Global Warming!!!) so I don't know when I will be able to drain and clean both tanks. I think the problem is in the passenger side tank as that is the only one that the engine pulls from. Starting Sunday I am on the road until May 5th.
  13. Can this be a heat thing? Seems that when the engine is up to temp, the wait between cranks that start it, is longer.
  14. Went back to the original fuel pump - no change. Checked all fuel hose fittings - no change. Loosened fuel caps and it idled for 10 minutes! Took it for a test drive with the caps off and back to square one. I am driving 200' at a time. Wait 5 minutes, crank a lot, drive 200' more. I gotta get this load off, no way my F 350 can pull me loaded.
  15. Electric pump. I'm gonna check everything I did - if winter ever goes away!!
