  1. Filling the filters with fuel is actually the main cause of injector pump failure. If you fill the filters, you gotta fill them through the outside little holes and not the center hole. That way the fuel gets filtered. Otherwise you suck dirty fuel right into your injector pump. I just buy bulk ATF and fill the filters full with that, screw Them on.

  2. All of my CL's and CH's except one had the bottom crossover line. You could order them either way. Because water weighs more than fuel your water can setlle in the crossover and freeze up. That small cross member that the line is attached to is bent so the line is lower than the tanks. I usually flip it upside down so the line is above the bottom of the tanks. It might leave 10 extra gallons in the tank though

  3. I live in Saint Cloud where GATR started. When the new owner bought it things got more expensive. We used to get a lot service work done there but the attitude of the whole place changed. Then he and Nuss were in a Volvo pissing match so he bought the Mack dealer in Iowa to sell Macks up here. Poor guy got busted a few months ago trying to buy a hooker......damn cops.

  4. From "The Sensor Connection" a place that deals with thermocouples and sensors. Question:Can I shorten the EGT probe's cable or will that mess up the accuracy because the ohms of the wire won't be the same?

Reducing the length of the EGT probe's wire by a few feet typically will not affect the operation or accuracy of the probe.

  5. The last eup's I bought were under $300. And they take about 15 minutes to replace. But you still need to have the dealer calibrate them to the motor eventually. My dealer here doesn't charge for that. Usually the engine light eup code will come up as the weather gets colder, you may have a good year left in them though. If you replace them yourself just make sure u soak the pump o rings in the tight type of oil before installation. Those o rings are $50!

  6. You poor guy. I had that seven speed in a 89 R model. It grossed 85,000 and that shift from 6 to 7 was terrible. For some reason we also had lots of clutch wear, and we even switched drivers in that truck to see if it'd make a difference. For rear ends you can buy a whole back "cutoff" for $1500. As for the tranny, I put a 9spd in mine and it was so much better
