The truck does look good in the pictures. I think the big negative that holds the price down is the brakes not working and the explanation of owner dis-assembly and not being able to get it back together right. It's like "ran when parked or last driven". If it is a simple fix and the seller doesn't want to screw with it and gets realistic with the price it could be a buy.

I just read the AACA online newsletter and their trivia question was, "what was the name of Mack's first truck?". Here is their answer:
The Manhattan was the Mack brothers' first truck. Introduced in 1905, the five-ton truck was designed to haul commodities such as coal, building materials and food stuff. The driver's seat was over the engine. Mack's first commercial vehicle was a bus built in 1900 for sightseeing in New York.Source:Automotive Milestones: Trivia of a Most Unique Machine -
Definitely a fine looking example of one of Mack's greatest.

Thanks for the great detective work getting "the rest of the story" to go along with the picture. Sad to hear the driver, so young, didn't survive.

Nice truck. We are ready for another ride.

Sweet! Hope it is ready by Macungie time.

I've got to go with nuts too.

Nice truck. Glad it is getting some love.

There's that R rollback earning it's keep again. Good project.

It is sad to see the old masters leaving. He was definitely an icon. I think his name was mentioned in about every issue of Hot Rod Magazine back in the day.

Neat truck. It also seems to have a later model steering wheel.

Welcome. It is always nice to see such a deserving truck find a good home.

Great video! Congratulations.

He probably hadn't fully transitioned from an ox cart to the KW multi-axle with levers, buttons, lights & buzzers.

Sometimes you have to wiggle the radiator forward to get the belt past the crank bolt(I do anyway). It is a tight fit...
I have that same problem. The crank pulley on my B is so close I'm not sure if I could get a new belt on without loosening the radiator to make room. Hope it never breaks a belt while out on a run.

Beautiful. If we could only get rid of the "pansies".

Great pictures thanks for sharing. You could almost call the Colfax show "a girl in tight jeans" show. Seriously, nice trucks.

All good stuff and hard to come by.

I remember when it first happened too, just made you sick. Congratulations on a job well done.

Welcome. Nice truck. Where are you located?

Nice compliment to the rollback. Wouldn't you love to catch those thieves in the act.

When I clicked on the picture to enlarge it took me to a photo bucket string of about 50 or 60 Mack (mostly Bs) pictures. Really cool.
