  1. I got a seat that looks the same from a parted out B Model several years ago. It needs to be cleaned up, painted and recovered. It should be a definate improvement over the standard bench seat. I'm not sure of the brand, I'll need to check. It's nice to have the battery cut off convientent. I put mine at the battery box and sometimes forget to turn it off along with the key switch. Next time in the garage the low air buzzer has been going for who knows how long.

  2. I called the museum a couple of weeks ago about a service manual for B Models. They have reprints and offered to mail at no cost but suggest a donation. Since I was going to be in the area a few days later I stopped by and picked up a copy and then went to the donation desk (don't remember the lady's name). I was sorry I didn't have more time to go through the museum but I had seen it at an event several years ago. Most of the people at the museum are retired Mack employees and are very egar to help. It was a pleasure dealing with them.

  3. I guess I have the same problem with my '60 B-61 673. I have a thermostat and nowhere to put it. At first I thought the temperature gauge wasn't working as it did not move after 20 minutes of fast idle. After checking with a non contact the temp was only 105 at all points. The shutter air cylinder leaks and the air turned off, also the pivot point for opening and closing the shutters is binding. I think it is worn. Is there a replacement or rebuild for the air cylinder? Harry
