  1. on that note... does anyone else have one of these? its a 2007 pre emission 427 with a 8LL...blows black smoke like an old r model (which is cool) at lower rpms (like 1200-1400) and won't get out of it's own way no matter how you shift it. I've been about 90000# with the backhoe on - that makes for a long slow ride
  2. Here's a few from today - the first is what appears to be an old "K Konstruction" truck with a new paint job and a new name Benny's? at yard 19 in McCook - The second is the dredging operation when they are running the six wheelers with the tag axles in Downers Grove (not a very good pic) - and the last is my new late afternoon ride...the lowboy driver had shoulder surgery and is out for the rest of the year so after hauling dirt I get to trade my 550 hp 18 spd pete for a 427 (supposedly) 8LL granite to move equipment
  3. i think the placement of the fifth wheel would depend on the pin location on the trailer, along with how much weight you plan on hauling
  4. I think they are from Indiana. They are dredging the pond on 55th st between Fairview and Main st in downers grove. I've seen them a lot this summer. As for how they run like that? not really sure...I would think the material from the pond has to be pretty heavy muck! I bet the local truck cops would love to weigh a "six wheeler" with that many axles
  5. the other four got sold to one place out of state. I still see the Midwest trucks every once in a while out on 39, and I have seen them at the Heartland transfer station in Stickney pulling tri-axle long dumps
  6. I think it might have been #100? for whatever reason they took the #'s off the hood before they sold it. It was in a group of 4 or 5. I think they were 100-104 or something.
  7. here is that AC before it got the new Beverly gravel lettering
  8. couple r models from today...Berkeley getting loaded and a Vulcan water truck in Romeoville
  9. www.cedarvalleyexpressblower.com out of Frankfort. IL
  10. we were at the auction where dan plote bought that one. was between dan and the guy who owns alliance contractors (I think). I don't think the price mattered to dan, he was going home with that truck no matter what
  11. CH wrecker from the old Chicago Mack. Don't know if they still have it
  12. old six wheeler going to dump dirt at MS yard 19 in Mc Cook a few weeks ago
  13. ruffalo's superliner sold for around $10K I think at their auction. Probably well worth it!
  14. yep Mark drives the Pete usually. Tom likes his old R model. Pretty funny, you'd think the boss would drive the newer truck!
  15. Mark drives for Tom's Hauling. He pulls a pretty cool air ride frameless axle trailer on super singles. Tom put the air ride under it himself. I don't think axle ever made an air ride trailer
  16. My buddy Mark works with them a lot, he could run with the older boughton trucks. He said they pull away like a car now!
  17. saw them Thursday at the pit. air ride - 450? hp - and AUTOMATIC - how about that
  18. today in Elmhurst Driver is lucky to be alive Dumping on a big angle Trailer landed on cab
  19. yup. says dale transport or something like that
  20. nice looking r model in Naperville last week pulling a brand new coras dump trailer. Sorry for the crappy picture
