I was almost ready to just rip the f****r of the cab, flip the elbow on the "exhaust cube" behind the pass step and make it into a weed burner.....
Tried all kinds of crap, just collected more crud and made noise again....never thought of amor all.
it was more of a vibration from the stack wearing through the bushing at an angle from the arc of the cab moving....

I had the one on the granite (2011) i used to drive replaced, not due to rattles, but squeeks as the cab moved. Lasted about two years. My buddy is driving it now, and just had it done again, Mack did the first one "free", but i think they payed for this one

Spotted today around Baltimore...

Cool "truck", stupid exhaust. I bet that 1.6L IDI motor has a hard time filling the stack, let alone rolling coal. Unless its been swapped for an ALH or BEW 1.9l TDI

That's what I had been telling the boss man. 1/2 the money for twice the truck. Nothing wrong with a new one, but NOTHING beats a sharp older one

Place I used to work at was kicking around the idea of retiring the old RD, and replacing it with another new Mack. But the increased complexity of the new trucks and the laws made them just kick the can for a while. While their "new truck" (2011 GU813 that I used to drive) hadn't given much trouble, they were weary of having the same luck with a second truck. So they instead put A TON of money into the RD. Only about half of what they would have spent on a new truck, they basically got a brand new truck, minus the frame rails.
My buddy sent me these from the Mack dealer that did the work on Friday.
New cab, new interior, new tanks, new fenders, new....everything. Remack E6-350, new Eaton 8LL, new Mack rears....
For before pics look in my album "RRR Inc"

Could also be ANY electrical fault....get the blink codes and post them. Someone will be able to help you

Governor controls cut out and cut in pressure for the air compressor. Did you check for any leaks? If the compressor is running constantly to keep up it will get hot.
Agreed. How long while driving does it take for the compressor to cycle off/on/off?
-
check the cabin filter (inside the "kick panel" on the passenger side i think) if not running on recirc.

Depends how and where the load is placed....

My wife and I took Izzie (oldest daughter) to see Thomas in St. Thomas a few years back. She loved it. Now it's one of Maddie's (youngest daughter) favourite shows....hopefully he comes east again so Maddie can see him "in person". I'll have to show them the pic posted if they're up when I get home tomorrow.

Now that would take some getting used to.

Fuel gage? Did Mack ever make a fuel gage that worked anyway?
The pig farmer I worked for had a 02 Granite with a perfectly functioning fuel gauge. Showed the amount of air in the tank. Ask me how I found that out. Luckily I was at the top of the hill when it "went to sleep", pumps where at the bottom

any noise from the pump during the "events"

id go 385....generally good weight ratings, should be cheaper, and not as much loss in wheel cut compared to 425......kinda best of both worlds i guess....
