  1. How's April 11th for ya? I can make us reservations somewhere in Bristol.....We can met up, fist fight till near death, then dine..We need to dress formal so bring your tuxedo. Who knows we might make a rip to Illinois to beat up on Rob.....That is if his wife don't get to him first

what kind of crap are you trying to pull now? Bristol's way over halfway- I think Roanoke's about midway.

  2. Oh what do you think i hate Paul? I guess i am that guy....Maybe you and Rob need to stay outa my business!! I'm my own person and I'm tellin on you guys, you have called me out on two different sites.............Just messin with ya, had to get a little laugh
what's the halfway point between here and Knoxville? We'll meet there and throw down...then do lunch.
  3. I wish you would just mind your own bussiness. Many people do not enjoy your keyboard comando toughness and have told me don't listen to your crap and have fun.I was told there's "That guy" everywhere, and your "him" here.Just curious, are you a liberal???

I must agree with Joe. Personal attacks are not tolerated long here, and Rob has done more to help more people than anyone here.

"Keyboard commando"? Don't listen to Rob? "Many" people said that?..hard to believe that. I feel sure Rob would be the most popular and well liked member on this site.

  4. To be honest you're "That Guy" ..... and another thing when you post something on here you make it "Everyone's" business. That being said let me bring something to your attention, were you a bully as a child? Meaning, calling another member a "Liberal" or a "Troll", is that all you can do is be a "Keyboard Commando" as you stated? Rob is definetly not that guy here, we all joke around here and have a good time, but all joking aside people like Rob, Herb, Larry, Tom, James, Barry and plenty others are well experienced and major participants of this board. We all might barely know each other, but as friends we take up for each other......Moral of the story, get on the damn trailer and participate like we all do or fall off and look like a jackass. You cant just show up with your chest all swelled out tryin to be bad, cause the truth will pop it for ya. We like having new members here, but participate nicely or not at all...

What about Paul? You didn't mention Paul...how come you don't like Paul? Maybe you're "that guy" - oh, you said "and many others". That would include Paul  ...never mind. I'm sorry :) ...I must be off now :D

  6. In one of my history of mack books i have it shows a steel nose mack owned byPellitirre Logging with 175 ton of timber behind it on doublr trailers. On the hood is the number 440 , been watching for that truck but havent seen it yet. all there stuff is cool. GreenGiant 2

    here's the picture-

  7. You have a valid point there Other Dog. In fact, some of the proceedures you mentioned will be followed quite effectively. That is the easy part. Engineering, and placement of the bends, and holes, is the crucial part to be correct.

I will need to have your expert supervisory skills within easy reach when I set out on this endeavor.

    Rob

oh...so in other words, you want to actually be able to use the bracket to mount the pump? that's a horse of a different hue. call if you need anything :D

  8. PAI's complete "selectair" valve is not out of line on price as I think mine was about $60.00. I did not use it as I actually "boiled" mine in hot water, (yes, on the stove) to clean the accumulated garbage/buildup from it. It works as new now. Mine had probably never had the air filter changed in it's lifetime, (exaggeration).

My shift cylinder kept leaking internally around the hi/low piston internal to the transmission. I found it by removing only one top cover bolt and it was like a tornado through a keyhole from the air escaping. I then removed the shift cover, tore it completely down again, boiled it, (same way on the stove), then honed the cylinder with a small cylinder hone and boiled it again. It was then put back together without any problems, (so far).

I guess now you can see why "Momma" gets so angry with me. At least I changed the water before boiling the hot dogs in the same pan.

    Rob

so THAT'S where i've been going wrong-i've been boiling my parts in cold water!:lol::D:P

that's a good one right there...anyway, women get bent out of shape over the littlest things. Reminds me of the time Jo got pissed off just because I used the good dish towel to wipe my stew pot down after i'd just reseasoned it with Crisco

  9. Little cooking tip here- you can also save that water and freeze it after you boil the parts and hot dogs, and you'll have an excellent stock to make soups and stews with.

Wow, next door to a restaurant-with a dumpster outside! How lucky can you be? Reminds me of my first driving job. Drove a garbage truck- paid $2.75 an hour, plus all I could eat.

  10. I always liked "Hold up on that car wash gentelmen" & "Give me a diablo sandwich and a Dr. Pepper i'm in a God D@%# hurry"

..."watch your mouth son, this is a public market".(the storekeeper guy)

I just checked my books and found that picture in "Mack-Driven for a Century". Never paid any attention to the name on it before.

  12. While I've not driven a large truck or commercial vehicle I have driven several Rt. hand drive sports cars, and light trucks. The shifting is really not difficult to master at all, just takes some time in the saddle. What was difficult for me was to stay on the correct side of the road, and negotiate traffic. Now that took some getting used to.

I sure wouldn't want to start right off in a different country learning in heavy traffic that's for sure. I drove around and around and around and around and around London and that took some getting used to to say the least!!

    Rob

that's right, I remember that scene from the movie now, "Rob's European Vacation"

  13. :tease: don't worry.............ALL us Cantonians are A-holes............... :blah:

Sad part is ALOT of shipper/receivers are like that. Back when I used to drive for our shop and get to some places it was ALL attitude when you rolled in the door. Like "why are you bothering me?". We play the opposite here, as it don't matter if I'm on lunch or whatever, I stop and take care of the driver. No sense in making it difficult. Alot of guys really thank us for going beyond the call.

Used to go to Lindberg Heat Treat in Solon and I HATED that stop. "Doug" hated life and he made sure you were miserable when you were around him too. Been alot of years since been up there, and GLAD of it.

That old red B model, is it sitting up in a truck lot on the east side of 77? I've seen it numerous times running down that way. Never be able to get in to see it, as I always get thru after the place is closed.

Well, Big Jim said he was there 2 hours before he finally got loaded, after the guy told us to quit talking so he could get in and get loaded. But he said the guy came outside and brought him his bills when he was tarping, and apoligized for taking so long, so he might not be so bad.

Yeah, that's where that B-model is-across from the Go-Mart in Fairplain. I've seen it there for a long time, but I don't know what the place is. I've asked at the truckstop and they didn't know. Never seen anybody over there, all the doors are always down, and there's a fence around the place and the gate's always closed. Lot's of trucks and equipment in there. I thought maybe it was a truck dealer, but i've never even seen a sign at the place.

  14. THIS CASE IS ABSOLUTELY GOIN TO BE A MISTRIAL!!

You were right-former sheriff, now judge the honorable Buford T. Justice said, "I always said 'you can think about it-but don't do it!'. And there is no evidence that this plan ever got past the 'thinkin' 'bout it' stage. Case dismissed".

Now undoubtedly the gang leader who earlier fled the country will return and claim he was just taking a vacation, and deny any knowledge of the plan.

  15. Maybe rob's sippin on the Jack Daniel's anit sharing could be SINCE Joe's Closer to Lynchburg than i am he's got a lil run to Lynchburg & sending Rob an endless supply of Jack & we dont know it ;):loldude:

    :mack1:

As Delmar said "I don't mean to be talkin' 'outa school...", but Rob and Joe, AKA Larry and Curly, might be gone for 5 to 10 (maybe less, with time off for good behavior) for "conspiracy to hijack a cement mixer against the peace and dignity of the commonwealth...blah-blah-blah". The ringleader Paul, AKA "Moe", has already fled the country and is still at large. Larry and Curly are already furiously denying any involvement in the plot, but the evidence against them is overwhelming, mostly their bragging about their plan right here on BMT.

Gee, sounds like you have a pretty good size garden compared to mine. Mine is only about the size of the kitchen and living room together here in my single wide :D

  16. Tom,

Ahh, looking back now.......wasn't that the time you and her was having tha time of your life. It had to be a very enjoyable moment that day with her helping you. Sorry Tom....I guess I was having one of those sentimental moments also. I guess it's because i've been couped up in the house all week off from work. I had planned to go to the Mid-American Truck Show, and attend a Irish Festival near home. None of that happened. I'll get to wait another year....again. The g/f really didn't won't to go.... so it worked out for her plans to stay in the yard. I've looked in my wish book for the most of this day wasting time. No Mack Time for several weeks. It does start very easy with no problems.

    mike

you're right Mike...looking back now, any time spent with her was the highlight of my life. Just didn't realize it at the time. But, hey-time marches on, right?

I put the "Miss Becky" sign on the front of the truck shortly before she died and showed it to her. Just used stick-on letters, and i'd never put letters on so straight before or since- they were perfect. Now it's a double meaning, not just the name of the truck.
