Quite the pair of color matching L models.
-
I had to look back at that recent thread of the military E series truck found in Idaho which is actually one of 80 ordered and was a EES dump truck. I thought originally this was another from the same order.

Looks pretty complete. Price is quite high for Its salvaged condition.

How much would they sell the complete truck for? Just curious however not likely worth it most of the time.

I found this piece of information "In 1939 the US Army ordered 80 Mack EES dump trucks under QMC Contract 7452."

EE models come up on Craigslist and other sites for sale quite frequently. In fully restored condition I have seen them asking 6k all the way up to 30K. Not that they will sell quickly if ever at that price. There is a guy in New York that is selling a pair of EH trucks for a few years now. One partial restored and the other in decent fair condition. He had been asking 9K for the pair. One has a dump box. This one below was selling out here on the west coast a few years back and the owner was asking 7k.

What model is it.

Open the passenger door and look on the seat frame is the data plate available or gone? I. Think in 40. Sounds like an E model. Have any pictures?

Such a neat piece of history. Those springs are quite the interesting setup.

It's great to see old rigs like this one still pulling the weight

Appears Mack also built lanova diesels for marine use including a Supercharged version.
-
That EF looks to be a good candidate for restoration. Looks like someone had already started at some point which likely helped preserve it.

Wow nice rig.

I have a END510 lanova diesel. They do have a different sound. I've only had mine running a couple of times. From what I have read they were troublesome engines in thier day often replaced by gas engines or other diesel options. Seems like in the 40s a truck could be ordered with the Mack Lanova diesels or a Cummins. From what I had read Buda diesels used the lanova combustion Chamber and injection design and they were called Buda-lanova diesels. Wiki says Buda was aquired by Allis-Chalmers in 1953. There were quite a few Mack Lanova models including the ENDS672 which were supercharged to 222 h.p installed in CD50T transit buses.
Here is a video on YouTube of a Mack Lanova running.

Great story. I will be watching your restoration. Nice job on the barn. A great place to rebuild an old Mack.

Hope things get better for you.

I will enjoy watching this thread move forward.

Well I assume the 250K is Brazilian currency which I crossed with the American dollar which looks like 80K US $.

Very cool. Sounds great. Plans to restore it or just roll it as is?

The A55 it appears has the wider radiator setup. My A51 has 8 shutter blades per side. I found another picture of an A55T at a show and it also has 10 shutter blades per side and a wider nose look. So that rig may actually be an A55T on some other chassis. The A55 got the bigger lanova diesel at the time. The A54 also seems to look like it also has the wider grille and radiator from the pictures I dug up.

Yup 2018 F150s get a diesel option. The V6 diesel has been used for years overseas in land rovers. It's called the Lion Family of engines. Ford builds the engines in the UK for Jaguar Land Rover.
