  1. There was a guy in South Jersey who ran a Diamond Reo/dump trailer combination for years after they quit making them, this truck was SPOTLESS! He was featured in Overdrive Magazine, because he was so well known to all the dump truck guys,he washed this thing EVERY night, wore a white shirt and tie to work! (really) i believe he was awarded a new at the time International conventional, for being voted "trucker of the decade",or something like that. I saw the truck and trailer a few times, wish i had gotten pictures, really a class operation!.....................................Mark

He ran some sort of special foundry sand or something. I remember him at Englishtown using a feather duster of some sort on the truck.

I met him at the Diesel Drags a few years back when he had the IH. He and the truck were both a class act. I don't recall his name but he was from Braddock, NJ down near Hammonton. He was dressed in white shirt and tie with pressed trousers and he had a plaque on the side of the truck proclaiming his prestigious award. His son had an equally nice long-wheelbase daycab Pete.

  2. Wow! I was wondering if the Mack Trailer A-Car was still around. It looks like it was taken off of the road as the front plate was removed. I grabbed a handful of these handouts from Beyer Bros in Fairview a long time ago.

  3. Remember Chuck 287 didn't go all the way up. You had to get off in Montville. That was a pain in the ass for us having to go to Wayne and cut over. We used to do a lot of work in Mountain Lakes and out by Culver Lake in Sussex County. Where is Columbus exactly? It is nice up here but I have to live just over the border I can't afford Bergen County.

I remember when Boonton / Montville was the end of the line for RT287. I'm just off of NJTP Exit 7. A stone's throw from Fort Dix. Lot's of farmland but not quite a "piney" either.

There were some great pictures of that truck in Saw Mill lettering on one of the diecast boards a while back. Very impressive unit.

  5. I've heard of this monster but have never seen pics of it.

Those are definately older shots because it shows their old location on the door. They are in Branchburg now just off of RT22.
