  1. I have a 64 B755 needing a recore on the radiator. Not sure how it comes apart. The top tank looks like might come out with the radiator by removing the allen bolts on each side. Anyone done this before? Thanks
  2. MIlaca yes its that truck. Bought it in East Bethel a while back.
  3. I love the L Cabs. Like a previous poster said, maybe not as well built but much more room than my B cab trucks. Here is a pic of my current one, a work in progress.
  4. Thanks shes a cool old truck and deserved to be saved
  5. Ill get my son to ride along soon and shoot a video .Gonna be pulling a friends flatbed with an antique Caterpillar soon. A bit of weight to work her a bit. Use more gears .
  6. As for how I use the truck . Primarily for fun. Do pull a friends flatbed to some of the local threshing shows to keep her working.
  7. V8 would be cool. Don't know that. I would be able to keep it running being I'm a Cummins guy. Heard the pumps on the Mack V8s could be troublesome
  8. The way I use it is mainly for the overdrive in the aux. Get more top speed . Can also split the gears in the main, but bobtailing no need to. The way the truck is geared with aux in 1st, lo lo and first on the quad, truck barely moves. Top end not sure, chickened out at 80 because of the rubber.
  9. And yes it is the one that was one sitting in the field in MN. over 10 years
  10. Thanks for the comments . It would be cool to put an old sleeper on it. I've attached a pic of the interior with the three shifters. Gets lots of looks when people look inside
  11. Thought I would add a couple of pics of my 1964 B755. There are some pics on the site of the truck when I bought it earlier this year under "B755 Whats it worth" I did some rust repair and paint, truck had sat in a field for over ten years so she was a bit rough. Trying to keep as much of the patina as possible while fixing up what needs it. Also cleaned interior up and reupolstered the pax seat. I work for Cummins, truck has a 262 Quadraplex with a 3 speed Aux box. Pulled the PT pump and rebuilt it, set the overhead, changed all fluids. Runs and drives great, Much faster than my 58 B61, will go a lot faster than I would go with the rubber on it now.
  12. Thanks for the help. I should have been able to figure that out. Appreciate the answer.
  13. I was working on my 64 B755, doing some frame clean up. I screwed up and pulled one of the spring loaded rear mudflaps. Used to worked on engines, not the chassis stuff or I would have known better. Is there a way to reinstall these? Big spring with a lot of tension. When I removed them I removed the bracket fron the frame. Luckily didn't do any damage when it released. Stopped there so at least I have one side still on.
  14. I have a 64 B755 with the L model cab. Looking for a pass side interior sheet metal door panel and also the window crank mechanism. Could make the panel but would like to find an original if possible. Thanks
  15. Thanks for the help. Looks like motor oil it is.
  16. I have a 64 Mack B755, Quadraplex with a Spicer/ Brown-Lipe 8031C 3 speed Aux box. I am looking to change the lube in the aux box and am wondering what oil to use? I have heard either 50wt motor oil or 85/90 gear oil. Anyone have a manual or know which to use? Thanks
  17. I have a 64 B755, was just going to post a message about needing a cap. If you still have it I would be interested. Tim
  18. The owners son said the truck is from Washington and was used as a logging truck pulling a trailer. Its a cool old truck, gave less than 5k for it so leaves a little money to fix a few things I want to take care of.
  19. Yea sold the yellow one, got the money, waiting for the guy to pick it up. AS for the B755, plan on cleaning it up, maybe redo the seat, check the motor over, do an overhead, and probably put the pump on the machine at work and check it over. Think I will leave the exterior pretty much alone, looks cool and I kinda like the patina.
  20. Old thread I know,I bought the B755, gonna bring it home in the next week or so. Got a pretty good deal on it, couldn't pass it up.
  21. Truck is in Minneapolis, MN area. Thought I had posted a profile pic, I guess it didn't work. Fixed blowby issue, was a bad guide in the cylinder head, no smoke now. I drive it all the time in the summer, no issues besides being a bit loud and top speed is about 62 mph.
  22. I am thinking about selling my 58 B61. Also might consider a trade for another B model tractor, something new to work on. Has the Thermodyne, duplex, engine runs great, starts right up hot or cold. clutch and trans good, rearend rebuilt about 1000 miles ago. Cab in pretty good shope, no rust. Floors repaired, well done by the previous owner. Nice flatbed, lights all work, good glass and rubber. Asking 5500 or maybe an interesting trade.
  23. I think it is still for sale. It is sitting at a truck repair shop with a for sale sign in it as of yesterday at least. East Central Diesel in East Bethel Mn if anyone interested.
  24. I live a few miles from the shop the truck is located and checked it out a while back. Its a pretty nice truck, cab and hood do have a bit of rust bubbling but no holes. Tires and frame look good. I think the pics in the ad may be from a while back, truck has been sitting for a while. engine runs good, didn't drive it though. If it was a bit cheaper I would buy it, but don't really have the room with the 58 I have in the driveway already. I work for Cummins but I too wish it still had the V8 Mack.
  25. I am looking to possibly change the engine in my 58 B61. It is the original END673 with a 10 speed Duplex. Engine is a bit tired, runs ok but lots of blowby, and it looks like some of the parts like the old 18 bolt head gaskets and pistons are a bit hard to find or I would just rebuild it myself. I have been reading all the info I can find on here on the swap, think I have a good idea of whats involved in swapping to a ENDT675. I have found an engine out of an older 60's MB600, wondering if there is any difference being its out of a cabover? Turbo location possibly? Any advice would be appreciated. Or if anyone knows of a parts source for the old Thermodyne that would help, would go threw the motor if I have all the parts I might need located. Thanks
