  1. you are both sooooooo right and to add one more thing             isn't it time these four-flushing,feather merchant, greedy politicians start paying their own way like joe taxpayer has to. let them pay their own health insurance or put the taxpayer on a plan equal to theirs with the same amount of premium (0) till you die and when it is time to retire put them on social security just like joe taxpayer. you would see that straighten out in a heart beat. if boston ever has another tea party it should be the four-flushers thrown off of the boat instead of tea because  in my opinion a tea bag has more value!     nuff said.

  2. That's just it, in the pics it looks good or else I woulndn,t go all the way up there to look at it. The chassis, eng, trans all in very good shape. The cabis restorable but not with the limited assets I have and to pay someone would put me in the poor house!! Under side has some seriuos rust, a lot of the welding done was of the amature nature, you can't weld to rust. The passenger side probably the worst, the front windshield pillar (I believe is all bondo), the top of cab and gutter line have some major issues. Most of the work done so far has not been done right. I don't want to sound like I'm bad mouthing this truck, it's just that I've done a lot of welding and fabricating along with my son who is a welder/fabricator by trade and I know what it would take to make it right but that's more than I'm looking for.   :( Bob

that's the good thing about my G model (and everyone else's)........         all aluminum cab.
  3. I saw another G-model this week in Keysville,Va. sitting on a lot where they sell used trucks and log trailers. I didn't get a picture because it caught me by surprise. It was bright yellow and appeared to be restored. Thought it was an IH cabover at first because it was in between some other trucks, then I saw the grill and thought it was an H-model and was surprised to see that it was a G when I got closer.Didn't know there were any around here.

someday if you're back there with a camera you can get us a picture.

  4. Yes,the truck has a few modifications, but not many, and it is very complete. This truck was working daily until fairly recently, just amazing the bumper and cab corners are not all bent and dented from the usual truck terminal mishaps. The interior is all there, steering wheel is very good and the wiring is not all cut into. The headliner and seats will need redoing as mice got to them at one time. The engine has an issue,I will take care of that, check out the brake system and running gear and may be able to hit a few shows this season.I could use the "G-73" emblem if anyone has one. Thanks,Al

al was that the G model richard kemp had up there a while back?
  5. I tried to start one a few years ago, didn't get much response, only 12 trucks or so.If anyone else wants to help or take over,I'll share what #'s I collected.post-61-12653657926239.jpg

If anyone is looking, there is a really clean looking 1961 G model water truck on Craigslist right now. It's in California.

[/q damn nice looking G model there superdog. 3000 miles too far away though. maybe you were the one i talked to a while back about the registry.

  6. when was the last time you saw a trailer off to the side broken down and another one stopped to help the guy out. used to be if someone was having trouble there'd be 2 or3 pulled over to help. but that was used to be!

  7. just heard on the news, bush says he's gonna step in and bail them out.
bush is taking care of his buddies like he always has. it makes me sick and pretty pissed off to see what this country (the leaders) have done to the working man. a lot of these politicians are not doing their jobs or haven't in a while. all of this didn't happen overnight. a lot of people were asleep at the switch.i've been driving for 40 years and in the real world if you didn't do your job you were fired. maybe the real world ought to go to washington,dc.if these people were paid for what they did they'd eat spam instead off steak. how many of them do you think ever had a real job before they were put on this lifelong paid vacation. there...i feel better.
