  1. First of all, I sense a hint of "spam" here. Thank you for the flowers though Mike. Mr. Freeman,,,transportation technicians are not "made" in 3 or 4 days. There is a plethoria of situations to encounter on the road in this industry that cannot be learned from a book or video. Yes, you do have to satisfy all the legalities, pass tests,,etc.,,,but doing all those things wont make you an instant driver. Its kinda like me going to a coaching academic site and telling coaches I am tired of driving, I want to be a coach, gottta do it in 3 or 4 days, forget all other B.S. and just hand me the degree. Lives are at stake when you are operating large trucks, not just yours, but others. Anyways, all said and done, if trucking companies are so eager down there to hire, they will train you and provide you a truck to test in and satisfy all legalities. Believe me, They are very eager for you to be responsible and safe in their vehicles. Now dont get your feelings hurt, just slow down and think all this through. randyp

you are so right randy. i've been driving trucks for 42 years and there isn't a day that goes by without me learning something new. the day i stop learning is time to crawl down out of the cab.

  2. That's cleaning up nicely!!

If you want another one, you could check out the Hitchcock Bros B-75 on Craigslist in Canaan. Sadly, I think it has been outside a little too long.

i can remember when hitchcock bros. still ran the B-75 and a B-61 hauling lime out of adams mass. with the two pulling coal buckets. they were good lookin' trucks way back when.
  3. ]H.R. Ewell inc. is stilll alive and well in E. Earl. John S. Ewell inc. is no longer around. They were bought out by Northwest transportation.(Land O' Lakes) Miss seeing the green and red milk trucks. Here is one of HR Ewells trucks ready to go to the New Holland parade.

they always kept their fleet lookin' good. new holland was where we delivered. capt. smith or something like that. it was 20 years ago. new holland tractor was right across the street.
  4. Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Not sure where in NC the truck spent most of its life. I bought it from a company in Taunton, MA. They bought it for the Holmes wrecker body. They put it on one of their newer heavy RDs. I learned to drive on a 77 RD tractor and spent a lot of time working on Mack Rs eversince. I used to own a MH twin screw cabover, former penske rental truck. Hauled scrap steel to Albany NY from western MA area. Sure wish I still had it today!

welcome 2 stick. i'm a couple of towns up from you in hinsdale.
