They're calling for frost tonight and tomorrow night so I picked all my tomatoes that were ripe,or showing any sign of ripening.Then I went back and picked the biggest and best looking of the green ones.I'm gonna wrap them in newspaper,put them in a box and put them in a closet to see if they'll keep for a while.Shame the biggest and best looking tomatoes are on the vines now that it's about to frost,but they just didn't get any rain until last week.I've got a pepper plant that's still blooming and I pulled that up too and brought it in.If anyone wants a tomato just let me know,there's plenty more green ones out there- they're free,shipping and handling is $39.95 each. :D

Thanks for the offer. We've had it pretty dry here to. Finally got some rain this past week so maybe things will change. $39.95 is a bit much how about I send you some poke salad and say about 29.95 and we have a deal :loldude: Have a good one JOE.

Yeah the shipping's not so expensive,it's that handling part. I've never tried poke salad. Some more of my turnips came up since it rained though,maybe i'll have some turnip salad later.

If I knew it would make it alright I would send you some poke salad. The mail people would probably think I was sending you the green leaves you smoke. They are calling for frost here also so I think fall is here to stay now, but who knows It'll probably be 80 degrees on christmas and a blizzard on thanksgiving.

Strange weather indeed. Our fall temperature is way above normal.

We just got our 1st frost here last night. Normal date is mid-September.

In fact, we've quite often gotten snow in October before.

Sounds like you guys are getting the frost at the same time.

I think both of you are probably a month behind us normally.

We have gotten quite a bit of rain through September and October.

Too late for the farmers, but it sure helped the lakes and water supply.
